  1. MSFS2020 is a mess for me after the latest update. My controllers only work in external view and not cockpit view. Anyone heard of this and have a solution on how to fix it?
  2. Got it fixed but not in the ways suggested. I kept uninstalling and reinstalling. I was using a download from the purchase history on the PMDG website. Yesterday, I found a backup disk in my house with the program that I purchased and downloaded a couple of years ago. This install worked. Chuck
  3. no. Do I cut an paste this? I'm not saavvy. Where is the fsx.cfg file. I can't find it.
  4. Yaw damper always stays on except for a few non-normal procedures. Not as realistic, but I have autorudder set on. In the real aircraft, we rarely touch the rudders in flight. Rudders are used during takeoff roll, landing roll out, and extensively during engine out conditions.
  5. I've been out of FSX for a couple of years. I just installed FSX and PMDG 737 on this computer. I have no skin on the aircraft. It's like Wonder Woman's aircraft. In the external view, I see all of the internal seats and control panels on the aircraft, but no skin. When in the cockpit view, everything is floating in the air. Does anyone know how to fix this or can you point me to a thread that addresses this issue?
  6. ALF is correct. However, there are a couple more things u need. On the Performance page, you need a COST INDEX. These vary airline to airline and will change as fuel prices fluctuate. In a 737, 20, 30 or 40 are common numbers for the carrier I fly for. You also need to have inflight winds and the temperature deviation programmed. Once you have these numbers in (plus the ZFW and fuel weight), the aircraft has the numbers it needs to compute a climb, cruise and descent profile. You can select LNAV before takeoff. Once you are airborne and the aircraft cleaned up, select VNAV. Then engage the autopilot. Make sure the autothrottles are on. With the autopilot in CMD mode and LVAV and VNAV selected, you are up in full RNAV mode. Program in an arrival, program an RNAV approach (reset the RNP to the appropriate setting on the LEGS page). Close all discontinuites on the FMC, set the altitude window to zero and watch the plane do it's magic. You will have to drop gear and select flaps to get it to slow below the flaps up min maneuvering speed.
