  1. Hello, I am selling my FCU from FSCockpit. Unit is fully functionable and in very good shape (like new). Encoders have push/pull mechanism. Unit is being connected via USB only. See pictures here: FCU 1.JPG 20240323_170047969_iOS.jpg 20240323_170117506_iOS.jpg PM me with your price proposal, should you be interested. Current price in FSCockpit shop is 850 EUR minimum. I have used it with Jeehell FMGS and can provide the driver and installation guide. I believe it's also compatible with ProSim and others, but not sure. Pease consult FSCockpit, should you want to use it with another system than Jeehell. Regards, Michael
  2. Hi SteveW, all, my system is a 13-900k / RTX4080. I have connected 3 Full HD projectors for my home cockpit. So even though my hardware is quite performant, I still have to be conservative with my settings. I have followed the advise for affinity masking from page 4 of this thread. The only change I made, was to set the schedulers to 1/3/5 instead 0/1/2 [JobScheduler] AffinityMask=268391765 P3DCoreAffinityMask=268391765 MainThreadScheduler=1 RenderThreadScheduler=3 FrameWorkerThreadScheduler=5 This gave me an improvement of +5-10 FPS. So I am absolutely thankful for this. However, I was monitoring my CPU performance with HWInfo and I was surprised to see kind of low avg CPU usage of less than 20%! GPU a bit more than 20%. Please see attached pictures on CPU and GPU performance from my last test flight going around EDDL in bad weather conditions. CPU/GPU Utilization CPU Cores Do these metrics look right to you, considering my hardware? I am especially concerned about the following: overall CPU usage less than 20% at average while on core 1 (main thread scheduler) thread 0 performs at 100%, thread 1 (Hyperthread?) is not really leveraged while cores 1, 3, 5 perform rather stable, cores 0, 2,4,6,7 are going up and down Maybe usefull additional info: I have reduced the short and long duration power limit of my CPU to 125w. That helped a lot with temperature (now avg of ~60 celsius). Not sure, if there might be a relation. Thanks again for your advise!
  3. I got it fixed by going back to a previous version of p3d.cfg I could figure out that the roads have been there but just appeared when coming very close.
  4. I found a workaround: This little piece of hardware called EDID emulator let's the GPU believe, there is a display connected and powered on. https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07C87QFNF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Working well so far. All displays identified in Windows, even if the projectors are off. Still wondering, why some GPU have an issue with that and others don't.
  5. Hi all, I am missing streets. Cars appears to drive off road. Attached is a scene from approaching EDDF: Screenshot missing highways (don't be irritated by the shadows at the edges - this comes from my 180 degree warping software) My system: P3D v5, OrbX Global Base, LC, Vector, Germany North, Germany South i9-13900k / RTX4080 My P3D settings: P3D Settings I am sure, I have seen streets before with these settings. I've also resynched ORBX already. I was playing around with Nvidia and AA settings. But I can't imagine, this has something to do with AA or texture filtering. Or does it? Thanks, Michael
  6. So I got a new RTX4080 and connected my 3 projectors, as before: 1xHDMI, 2x DP (where I use a DP->HDMI adapter) Now, when I start the PC, only the primary display is being recogniced. Only after turning the projectors on, all 3 displays are recogniced in Windows. With my old GPU, all 3 displays have been identified also in off state. I checked, if it has sth to do with the DP ports, But also after connecting one of the other projectors to the 2nd HDMI port, it is not recogniced on start up. Hope, someone can help! Thx, Michael
  7. I got an RTX4080 now, but still FPS are only slightly better compared to the GTX1080TI or the RTX 4070. Sitting at EDDF / Aerosoft Professional with ~ 50 FPS with moderate settings and w/o weather or traffic... I have the feeling, that I am not fully leveraging my hardware. CPU is a i9-13900k. What else would I have to do - or how much money to spend - to get stable frames on P3Dv5 with moderate settings? Maybe I should restart with a clean p3d.cfg again.....
  8. but there is also no significant increase vs the 1080ti. And with my i9-13900k I do have a considerably strong CPU, I believe. I have the feeling, that I do not fully leverage my hardware power. I was playing around with some affinity mask and job scheduler settings. Maybe I have to start all over with a clean p3d.cfg.
  9. So I returned the 4070, as I did not see any improvement in FPS and I ordered a 4080. Now it's getting weired. Still same FPS! I didn't go for a flight yet; only checking FPS at the gate for now. But I expected to see a difference between the 4070 and the 4080, which is supposed to play in a different league. What could it be, that my FPS all the time stay the same? (I've set FPS to unlocked and let other settings untouched , installed new driver and let P3D create a new cfg, just to ensure) Thanks, Michael
  10. Hi everyone, I am planning to upgrade my 1080TI GPU. The 1080TI does a good job, as long as I keep settings on a moderate level and avoid landing at complex airports at night or with bad weather. My goal is to be able to fly every airport in any weather condition at stable 30 FPS minimum. But even after intensive research I am still unclear what the best option is for my situation, which is: - Prepar 3d v5 (so no DSS, Framegeneration, etc support needed) -3 projectors at 1080p for my home cockpit (no 4k resolution planned in the future) - CPU: i9-13900k - budget: 1000-1500 EUR I first tried the RTX 4070, but that card didn't give me any performance increase at all. Maybe the light effects improved, but no FPS increase. A friend of mine, who also has a home cockpit with 3 projectors at full HD resolution, got the 3090 and he reports absolutely stable performance. But I was wondering, if I really need to invest into the 24GB RAM, or if the 3080TI with 12 GB would also do the job. Sure, the extra RAM would give me some buffer. Finally I was stumbling about the 4080. At the moment this is my favourite, I must say, as it would give me a bit more RAM (16GB) and also a modern architecture in case, P3D would support DSS or Frame Generation one day. According to online tests, the 4080 should outperform the 3090, but I wonder, why the 390 is still more expensive. Is this only due to the extra RAM? Shouldn't the 16GB on the 4080 be enough RAM for P3D? Any advise would be appreciated! Thanks, Michael
  11. Thank you Ray and Dan! I also have HT on according to recommendation of SteveW. PCI settings checked - ok Resizable BAR - is enabled XMP mode - not enabled / greyed out in my BIOS. But RAM was shown at 5600 Mhz / in CPU-Z JEDEC profile shows 2800 Mhz. From what I understand, the 2800 Mhz is 50% of the RAM max speed and needs to be doubled, so it should be ok??
  12. Thanks Ray, I believe, I can confirm. I've seen some nice nose lights effects from a plane which crossed my way during taxying, which I believe, looked nicer than before. Maybe the FPS performance is due to the specific type of the RTX 4070 that I got. The MSI Ventus 3x is not the strongest on the market. Or could it have to do with the affinity mask settings? I followed this thread and have the following settings for my 13900k: [JobScheduler] AffinityMask=268391765 P3DCoreAffinityMask=268391765 MainThreadScheduler=0 RenderThreadScheduler=1 FrameWorkerThreadScheduler=2 I saw somewhere, that you're also using Simstarter NG. Peter (Cpt Pero) advised me to start P3D using all cores. From what I understood, after start up of P3D, the above JobScheduler settgings are applied. But I must admit, this is not my area of expertise and I don't understand, how these settings relate to each other. So just curious, which Simstarter Settings you are using.
  13. But with the 11 GB of if the 1080TI, P3D still showed 11 GB in P3D, and not 10 GB effectively. Is this a rounding issue, or does Windows need more VRAM with the 4070? @Ray, I do have EA enabled. But performance is the same as with the 1080. Can you elaborate, what you mean with "significant improvement on appearance"? FPS? Thx
  14. I am a bit irritated. I have replaced my 1080TI with a RTX4070. But in P3D (shift-z) the graphics RAM is still shown as 3,5/11 GB used. Why 11? The new card has got 12 GB. Also the FPS are pretty much the same level, as I had before with my 1080TI at the same settings. I expected to see some increase after looking at several performance comparisons. Thanks, Michael
