  1. As much as this idea would work, I don't want to sell my components just to increase framerates. If there's really no other option than to buy an Intel Processor, I'll just wait until I've saved up enough money to do a complete computer upgrade, and switch in the process. I appreciate the help, but I think I'll just stick with low FPS for a few more months until I can afford some new components.
  2. I don't plan on selling my GPU because I use my computer for games that require the power of the 1080 as well as P3D, but thanks for the suggestion.
  3. I've realised this, but I don't have the money to replace my entire computer just for a skylake processor, so I was hoping for some workarounds while I save up. The card was a Radeon HD 7800 from XFX. Had 2GB of RAM and only achieved 870 MHz core clock. When I installed the 1080 I had already uninstalled the Radeon drivers and did a fresh install of the latest NVidia Drivers.
  4. Hi all! For a while, I've been having FPS issues in Prepar3D, but I always assumed it was caused by my low-end graphics card. So when I upgraded to a 1080 I was hoping that I would see an increase in performance... I had no such luck. Today during a flight with the Aerosoft Airbus I was getting 8-10 fps in the cruise, and that was essentially the last straw for me. I was hoping some of you would know how to help with these issues. Important Computer Specs: CPU: AMD FX-8350 clocked at 4.4 GHz GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 SC RAM: 16 GB Addons: Aerosoft Airbus ORBX Global REX Soft Clouds Active Sky 16 Thanks, MESSpace
  5. I'm trying to make my own aircraft panel out of some leftover arcade buttons, and I've run into a bit of a problem with the GoFlight Interface tool. I have a board that will act as a keyboard when you press a button that is wired up to it. What I can't figure out is, how can I use GoFlight Interface tool with normal keyboard presses? For example: I press one of my arcade buttons, and it sends a signal to my computer to press the key 'X'. Then I want the interface tool to toggle the APU on. Thanks in advance!
  6. C# is included in the .NET framework which should be installed by default, but just in case you can find it here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851 Hope this fixes it, but I'm still going to look for other causes.
  7. If this program hadn't been working for everyone, I'd assume that it's not a problem with the registry, but since it has been working, I've taken one more step just to make sure it's not a registry issue. This time, there should be no need for registry fixing if you've run the program already. Basically, when I made the program, I assumed that there would only be one registry entry for FSX, but it turns out that there are two. I've patched the program to check both registry locations if one of them doesn't work. Anyways, new download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ztw7b8xsrez97im/FSXAirplaneManager.exe?dl=0
  8. Hi there! I'm assuming that the program doesn't even open? If this is the case, it's most likely because steam often fails to put an FSX registry listing inside the windows registry. As the program uses the path in the registry to find where FSX is, it crashes during startup because it can't scan your SimObjects folder. Luckily, there's a nifty tool that fixes the registry for you, which would be helpful not only in this case but with other programs that use FSX as well. The website is here: http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library and there should be a download link called FSX/FS9 Registry Repair Tool. After downloading this, you can open it and will see a window with two buttons. In your case, you'll want to click the top button that says "Repair FSX Registry Path", and then use the file browser that pops up to find your fsx.exe file. Make sure that just in case, you run the Registry Repair Tool in administrator mode, just so that nothing goes wrong! After this, try running the program again! Hopefully this helps! Also, it is normal for the exe to be 10.5k! Messpace
  9. Hello all! Today I bring to the FSX community a nifty program that'll help you manage your aircraft. Overview: If you've ever used FSX with a lot of addon aircraft, you'll know that lag can be a problem. If only you could easily disable some aircraft while leaving others... That's exactly what this program will do! Once loaded up, it will scan your FSX SimObjects folder for aircraft, and then display them in a list, where you can then select them to be disabled/enabled in FSX. I've found it especially useful in FSX-SE during multiplayer sessions when other players' aircraft are substituted by your Addon Aircraft. I can't promise that it'll reduce lag for everyone, but it helped me! How It Works: This program works by scanning the SimObjects folder and listing off the names of the folders inside it. Then, when you disable an aircraft, it simply renames the aircraft.cfg file inside that folder to aircraft.cfg.disabled ! Then when you enable it again, it renames the file back! FSX doesn't recognize aircraft.cfg.disabled, so it simply skips over the entire aircraft. The code behind it can be seen here: http://pastebin.com/WQHcuyWy Demo Video: https://youtu.be/Q314po4lYJ4 Downloads: Download 1 (Without Thumbnails): https://www.dropbox.com/s/ztw7b8xsrez97im/FSXAirplaneManager.exe?dl=0 Download 2 (With Thumbnails): Coming Soon! (Maybe) Extra Notes: This program was made for FSX-SE, but will work with FSX-ME as well. If you have any problems with or questions about the program, please ask! And I hope that you all find this very useful. Also, suggestions are welcome.
