  1. Hi. I have the same graphics card as you, but also have the same blurry instrument panels. Can you please post your graphics settings for FlyInside? Thanks.
  2. Is there any way to get the Saitek multi panel and radio panel to work with the G1000? If not, what other hardware do you guys recommend for controlling the G1000? Preferably something in the non-commercial use price range. Surely you guys aren't tuning those knobs by mouse and pointer right?
  3. That's really unfortunate. We take the time to build an expensive flight sim rig for high end graphics, only to have to turn off shadows. Anyone else with success on fixing this shadow issue?
  4. Can you guys tell me why I have flickering shadows? I am running Prepar3d v3.1 with a 980Ti latest drivers. Nothing has been modified in the Prepar3d.cfg. It seems that the shadows have pretty bad flicker unless zoomed in at 0.50 and beyond. I've already tried reinstalling Prepar3d and Nvidia drivers. I've lowered the graphic settings in Prepar3d as well and the flickers still persist, just at a lower quality. Is this just a V3.1 issue? Graphic settings are at the end of the video. (flickering is worst at the beginning of the video)
  5. 1. Changed to "use the 3d application settings" 2. I don't know what else to say about this one. You saw me start at 3840x2160 in NCP and in Prepar3d. My Sony TV also confirms whenever a resolution has been switched, and it does not say that it has been switched to 1920x1080. 3. For some reason, sometimes when I select 30Hz or 60Hz, when I hit apply, it changes to 29Hz or 59Hz. I found this not to be an issue from this article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2006076 4. Changed NCP desktop size and position to 3840x2160 under scaling tab. I've uploaded another video that reflects these settings. And thank you all again for your continuing support. I'm new to building computers and flight sims and have come a long way from reading threads like this.
  6. Oh it's funny? Yes, I have it running with every box ticked, and it does so smoothly. There is plenty road traffic on main roads not shown in the video. Don't know if you already saw, but the latest video I uploaded before your post does have NCP set at 4k. I think you are incorrect. Every time I start NCP at 1080p and run prepar3d at 3840x2160, if I hit alt tab and look at NCP, the resolution of the desktop has also changed to 3840x2160. My TV monitor also notifies me that it has changed resolution to 3840x2160. Process shown here: I started at 1920x1080 in NCP, then ran Prepar3d at 3840x2160, and went back to the desktop NCP and showed that it automatically changed to 3840x2160 as well.
  7. My NCP Prepar3d setting is pretty much at default here. I also don't have SLI configuration. Some other things to check: 1. Confirmed HDMI 2.0 2. Confirmed TV HDMI port supports 4k settings. 3. Tried changing to YCrCb and it looked pretty much the same, except I'm unable to set Output Dynamic Range to full. 4. Confirmed NCP "Adjust desktop size and position" settings set like yours. 5. Confirmed OS sizing (text magnifier) at 100% I've uploaded a final video to show the settings from desktop to flight. Does this look like what it should to you? Does it still look compressed? (I've kept dynamic reflections to medium, as my FPS was stable.). And a side note, do you know how I can get rid of those flickering shadows on 2:55? https://youtu.be/XRcfhz3vAV4
  8. I don't have v3.1 yet, so no Dynamic Reflections setting. I did turn FXAA off, which is apparently a common preference I didn't know about, and that did help sharpen both 1080p and 4k resolutions, but the 4k is still less clear. As for my Sony TV settings, I didn't think that would be the issue since you are viewing my videos/screenshots from your monitor with your settings and still see "heavy compression." I did, however, follow some of your TV settings and have made it much clearer mostly from the "reality creation" setting. Although I do believe everything else has become a little too sharp at the expense. But I can settle for this as the clarity of the instruments are vital to my flight training. Thanks, and if you have any other suggestions to add, please let me know.
  9. I only keep the desktop resolution at 1920x1080, not Prepar3d. I've now reuploaded the 4k video properly. Started the video from the desktop to show how tiny everything is in 3840x2160, which is why I choose 1920x1080 for NCP settings and just do 3840x2160 in Prepar3d settings. 4k: https://youtu.be/UaL2nOC6YrI Does it still look heavily compressed? The numbers on the G1000 still look similar to that in the first post.
  10. I changed it to Full as soon as I posted that screenshot. As for my NCP resolution, I don't like to keep it on 3840x2160 because all the menus and things are very tiny.
  11. Thanks for checking in Rob. I've provided the following: 4k TV: Sony XBR65X810C - According to Rtings, it has: - 4k @ 30Hz @ 4:4:4: Yes - 4k @ 60Hz: Yes - 4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4: Yes Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 06G-P4-4996-KR HDMI 2.0: http://www.amazon.com/A-tech-Series-Red-black-Supports/dp/B00NOC8HC4/ref=cm_cr_pr_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8 Display Port: Not sure what this is, but I don't have one. 4K: https://youtu.be/0Kd_JUWs7cA 1080P: https://youtu.be/nVbD5C4BUfs I just noticed that every time I tried recording the 4K resolution in fraps (original quality), the video output is 1704x960, which is why the youtube video is only in 720P. It must be a fraps issue since the screenshot in the first post was in 4K resolution.
  12. Thanks! This worked. I had the impression that the neutral was the "TO" setting. My mistake.
  13. Any idea why it looks to be that way? I have all settings maxed out in both resolutions.
  14. Thanks for the info. The gauges make sense, but I do still see sharper objects with the autogen buildings as shown in the 3rd and 4th picture. Again, easiest to compare after saving both pictures and flipping back and forth.
  15. The best example is to refer to the altitude bug in the picture I've attached. If you save both pictures and compare by switching back and forth, you can tell that the text on the 1080P resolution is sharper. Can you see it? By the way, the 1080P screenshots are the 2nd and 4th images.
  16. Hi. I've recently finished my 4K PC build, and after playing around with the graphic settings, I noticed that 1080p resolution is sharper than 4K. I initially wanted to build a 4K setup so the text and panels will be clear to read, but it turns out that the 1080p setting gives a clearer image. Can anyone explain why?
  17. I know this thread is very dated, but I haven't found an answer using the search. Does anyone know how to fix the default pitch trim setting for the C172? It is never centered at startup.
  18. Anyone else have this problem? I've confirmed that I don't need to restart prepar3d, I just need to recreate a scenario and it'll load up properly with the entire screen filled.
  19. Hello. Often when I launch Prepar3d in full screen mode, 4k resolution, I get a black border along the bottom and right side that cuts off part of the picture. Restarting the program works, but it's an annoyance. Does anyone know what's causing the problem and how to fix it? I've attached a screen shot. Thanks. Nvidia GTX 980 Ti (latest drivers)
