  1. Your right, I don't mess with traffic so I didn't include it, but it is definitely a hard hitter on FPS.
  2. P3D V3.4 Aerosoft Heathrow - Stand 517 Aerosoft Airbus A321 FTX Global Rex 4 Texture Direct Chaseplane FTX Trees Starting Settings: Graphics: http://puu.sh/wAyFZ/84c3d72be3.jpg Scenery: http://puu.sh/wAyGs/0fd6447320.jpg Weather: http://puu.sh/wAyGY/4ef5b00efd.jpg Lighting: http://puu.sh/wAyHn/f941c3717a.jpg Traffic: http://puu.sh/wAyHT/f1a3c72407.jpg Sitting at Heathrow in the BA A321, in Cold and Dark, I am recieiving 33-34 frames, making the plane very flyable. Outside, I recieve anywhere from 34 to 50 frames, depending where I am looking. First I turned my Texture Resolution to "Ultra - 4096x4096" This change didn't impact my frames at all, it actually boosted it from time to time. I'm recieivng 34-36 frames in the cockpit, and still a 34-50 outside. Next, I turned on FXAA. This DID bog down my sim a bit. I got a low of 29 frames to around 35 in the cockpit. Since my system isn't the best I'm going with medium to lower end settings (other than texture resolution) so I decided to change MSAA to 4 samples. My FPS was now boosted from 31-35 frames in the cockpit, only getting 27 when looking back at the airport. Now finishing up the Graphics page, I put Texture Filtering to "Anisotripic 4x". My frames didn't change much, from 30 up to 37, and 27 when looking back at the center of Heathrow airport. So with just medium settings, my Graphics page looked like this: http://puu.sh/wAyZd/68dc3da590.jpg It was flyable, and was a solid 30+ FPS in almost every view, but flying with flat scenery is pretty awful, so we will go in and change that. First, I turned Autogen Vegatation Density up to "Very Dense". I have FTX Trees and I love seeing them all throughout my sim. But, unfortunatly they are EXTREMELY FPS heavy. I went from 34 frames down to 25 in the cockpit, just because of trees. I decided to lower it down to "Sparse" and see what the results were instead. Even with the lowest setting, I still lost 5 frames, making 29 in the cockpit. I now wanted a little more in my scenery. I like flying into some default airports, and I wanted to see some more stuff around them, so I turned Scenery Complexity to Normal. This change took 2 frames out, making my FPS in the cockpit now 27. Now that we have some scenery and vegatation, lets look at our actual world textures. I put my LOD (Level of Detail) Radius to Medium. My frames actually increased again, ranging from 27 to 29. I put my Tessellation Factor to High, and now my frames range from 26 to 29. If you own any FSDT products, you know the minimum Mesh Resolution is 19m, so thats what I put, and my frames range from 27 to 30. I also decided to put my Texture Resolution on 15cm, and the result was frames ranging from 26 to 29. Then I added Land Detail Textures. Now my frames dipped to 25, but ranged from 26 to 29. So all in all, my little experiment showed that Autogen Vegatation Density and Scenery Complexity took the most frames, at least for me.
  3. WOAH. These are amazing...did you edit these photos? The colors look amazing, how did you manage that??
  4. I will monitor my temps, but I'm not in a position to upgrade my RAM right now. My settings are relatively low, I found a balance between performance and eyecandy, located here:
  5. Is this a PMDG only issue? I was thinking it was a P3D issue, not just PMDG. My settings are pretty low so I doubt it is a settings issue.
  6. I like to fly the long hauls overnight, so I will start one in the evening then wake up and land. When I depart my P3D is running smooth, but when I wake up, I get a stutter every second making it really hard to land. Has anyone had this issue? My VAS is fine, left everything the same when I departed.
  7. I used to have Live Update work but within a week or so it stopped fixing the problems, so it caused me to reinstall all my FSDT and FlightBeam addons. I never knew that... I'll probably go off to your forums then.
  8. This was probably the most annoying problem I've ever had, because it doesn't show up in Event Viewer, it just disappears into the task manager. Would this be required only when you install new sceneries, or every time? If I have to do this every time I will because it magically started working, thanks so much!
  9. Ever since FSDT have released their new "Live Update" system it has been nothing but trouble for me. I personally liked their old addon manager because I never had any problems. I had an issue with P3D so I decided to delete all my sceneries and addons (except aircraft). I reinstalled all of them but FSDT addons, P3D worked great. As soon as I installed GSX, P3D now won't launch. It loads the sceneries then just disappears, without appearing on the event viewer. I have a lot of addons from Flightbeam and FSDT so I'd actually like to use them but this new "Live Update" feature has just been nothing but trouble. Normally, I can run the Live Update and it will fix itself, but it never has. I am not asking for support, hence posting under the P3D Forum, just posting to let people know of my troubles with it in case anyone else had this issue.
  10. I haven't touched my BIOS in a long time so I doubt thats the problem,. It's kept cool with my H75, so it has to be software.
  11. While that did let me run the simulator, it is still super finicky. Removing a scenery in the library caused it to crash, still due to ntdll.dll.
  12. I'd also like to point out I've done everything in the CTD Guide
  13. For the past few weeks I've been getting the random ntdll.dll crash, but it would happen only if I started clicking around while P3D loaded. Now, it does it whenever I try to load in. -Tried using FSDT Live Update (normally fixes everything) -Updated Drivers -PC is not overheating, checked the temps and they looked normal. -Tried removing dll.xml I cannot figure this out for the life of me, anyone got anything that could help? Thanks so much
  14. I think I'll go the extra mile for 7700k, it will last for a while.
  15. It would most likely be a few (4-5) weeks before I bought anything, and I was going with the 7700k because I am tired of getting 20 frames at LAX and I just wanted to go all out. If the X series of chips come out I'll take a look at those aswell.
  16. This summer I'll be starting a job and normally have around $135 to spend each week. I was looking at buying a new CPU and Motherboard to replace my AMD FX8350. I was going to buy the i7 6700k, but then I saw they have a 7700k. The difference is only $20 so I was wondering if there is any major performance gain from the 7700k?
  17. SOLVED!!! I used FSDT's live update thing and it's fixed now.
  18. Ever since I bought FTX Trees HD and openLC NA, everytime I launch P3D, it always says it is "Building New Database for scenery". I didn't really mind it, although it was odd, P3D worked normally. Although, after I was flying earlier to JFK, I closed out of the sim like normal. Now, I try to open it back up, and it loads the scenery database, then waits a few seconds, loads something else (it said scenery something, it goes by too fast) and then the Splash screen goes away, and P3D and SODE are running in the background of my sim. Tried removing the scenery.cfg, prepar3d.cfg, the prepar3d_default.wx and .fxml, nothing works. Event viewer shows nothing either. Anyone else had this problem?
  19. I've never had any issues with VAS, always have atleast a gig and a half left on long hauls. And I do understand the demo has less trucks and such, but comparing screenshots it shows Aerosoft's has lots of stuff aswell. Really tough decision... why do we have so many good sceneries?? :)
  20. I've used UK2000's demo LHR, but it always seems a bit "empty", if that's the word for it. I love the other sceneries by him, but LHR just seems to be missing things. Is it a really big frame drop between the two? I only have ASN and FTX Global.
  21. I've been flying out of Heathrow a lot more, and now that it's summer, I was thinking of investing into an LHR scenery. I was going to go with UK2000, but then saw that Aerosoft has a very nice looking one. Which one is better on performance?
  22. Anyone here recommend it? Since the sale is going on I thought about buying openLC NA. Anyone got screenshots with it?
  23. My Saitek Rudder Pedals have always had issues with the toe brake. Since it was a manufacture defect, Madcatz would always fix it. Now that they are owned by Logitech, they say it isn't under warranty. How can I set my left toe brake to brake for the left AND right? It's very hard to brake on runways now :( I've heard FSUIPC can do it but I don't have the paid version, wanted to see if there was an alternative.
  24. Where would I see it then? I can't find it...
