Problem with the VOR/LOC/GS Intrument on the First Officer's Flight Intruments Panel
Hello Dan  Thank you, you also confirm this problem. With the open ticket, the PMDG Support will correct this problem. It will probably be fixed in the next update ... ----- Jean-Pierre Richaume (from France)

Problem with the VOR/LOC/GS Intrument on the First Officer's Flight Intruments Panel
Hello, I'm on the ground on LFBD Airport in France. I switch both the NAV 1 and NAV 2 on the VOR frequency of SAU ( 116.8 MHz ) I'm in range of the SAU VOR. ----- On the Captain's Flight Instruments Panel : I select the direct radial TO inbound the SAU VOR on the Garmin VOR/LOC/GS Indicator : radial 112° TO The needle of the VOR Indicator 1 & 2 and the direct radial TO on the Garmin VOR/LOC/GS Indicator are coherent and needle centered : 112° for the both (all is OK) -------------------------------------- On the First Officer's Panel Instruments, this is not the case : The needle of the VOR Indicator 1 & 2 indicate 112° (that's OK) The direct radial TO on the Garmin VOR/LOC/GS Indicator is now 053° (this is wrong) If I turn the knob to the radial 112°, the needle of Garmin is not centered as it should (this is wrong) => Where is the problem ? ----- Jean-Pierre RIchaume

Update to 1.10.0044 version
Ok, thank's for the answer  It's Ok. I looked for the file : "...\X-Plane 10\Aircraft\PMDG\DC-6\documentation\README_PMDG_DC6_Base_XPL.txt" and it say : All is OK, I'm in 1.10.0044 version. ----- Jean-Pierre Richaume

Update to 1.10.0044 version
Hello  I followed the download process of the new version of the DC-6 (1.10.0044 version) : Then I have executed the installer (in overwritting my precedent DC-6). I indicated the location of X-Plane on my hard drive. And everything went well. ----- But when I look at the DC-6 integrated windows panels and I look for the file contents, for example "...\X-Plane 10\Aircraft\PMDG\DC-6\Documentation\Douglas DC-6B-R2800 CB16.txt" the indicated version is "1.0" ... Question : am I in the new 1.10.0044 Version ? Thank you.

Carb Air Temp Eng gauges in white sector and the AFE
In cruise flight, at 12,000 feet, 215 kt. http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/383578CockpitDC6.jpg ----- - The AFE is active : cruise checklist done. - Ground temperature : 7° C - Free Air Temperature : -20° C - Car Air Temperature : -40° C (due to the venturi effect) - Air humidity : I don't know The AFE maintains the four levers down for the heat carburators ( but what is the air humidity ?... I don't know. Maybe the air is not sufficiently humid to be freezing ...... ) ----- Jean-Pierre Richaume

I did not notice the free air Temp at this time. I'll test again and I'll post screenshots ... ----- Jean-Pierre Richaume

Carb Air Temp Eng gauges in white sector and the AFE
Thanks Kyle  With the settings made by the AFE it's OK , so I can fly without worries : Is the air humidity managed by X-Plane... and known by the AFE ?

Carb Air Temp Eng gauges in white sector and the AFE
Thanks Kyle for the answer  So, it's acceptable if the air is not cold and very humid at once. ----- Jean-Pierre Richaume

Carb Air Temp Eng gauges in white sector and the AFE
Hello  In cruise flight, for example, if the Carb Air Temp Eng gauges (No. 315-318 on the POH Manual, page 47) indicates a value below the yellow area, I apply the necessary corrections with the 4 Carburetor Air Eng levers (No. 401-404 on the POH Manual, page 41), but if the AFE is active, it automatically lowers again the 4 levers at full down, which lowers the temperature below the yellow sector again (in white sector)... what is not acceptable for the carburetors. To solve this problem, I have to disable the AFE when he finished the current checklist and adjust the 4 Carburetor Air Eng levers to obtain a temperature value in the green sector of the Carb Air Temp Eng gauges. But as soon as I activate again the AFE for another checklist, it lower again at full down the 4 levers ... and I have to make again as previously mentionned. Question : would it be possible when the AFE is active, it leaves the setting of the the 4 Carburetor Air Eng levers adjusted by the user ? ----- Jean-Pierre Richaume

Problem with the ADF
Good, I'm not stupid Thank's Kyle Jean-Pierre Richaume

Problem with the ADF
Thank's Kyle for the answer  I was not looking for the good gauge. With the gauge at the top right, it's work fine. Thank's, problem solved. I was looking for the the gauge (ref. 269 on the POH Manual, named also "Automatic Direction Finder 1") just at the right of the VOR gauge. On this gauge just at the right of the VOR gauge, the Bendix King KI-227 ADF Indicator, the needle don't move, whatever my course from the NDB. With of course, the KR 87 tuned to an in-range and active station. The yellow needle on this gauge should have normally the same orientation as the needle on the NDB gauge at the top right (see page 112 on the POH Manual). Am I wrong ? ----- I love your aircraft, great job ! Jean-Pierre Richaume

Problem with the ADF
Hello, I have a problem with the ADF 1 of the pilot. ---- I start from "Ready for start" configuration. => All checklists are performed by the AFE, so all is OK : Before Start / After Start / Before Takeoff / Takeoff (Dry) / Cruise. I fly in the range of an NDB beacon. - I switch the good NDB frequency (in active frequency position) on the Bendix King KR 87 ADF - On the Bendix KMA 24 Audio Panel, I switch on the "ADF 1" button : I hear the signal of the NDB, so I'm within the good range of the NDB. The problem : the needle of the ADF 1 of the pilot does not move, whatever my course from the NDB. The needle always points at 12 0'clock. Energy on the DC-6 : - Battery => in up position (on Plane Battery) - Batt & GND.PWR => ON (up position) - the 4 generators (Generator Control) => all on up position - Inverter # 1 and # 2 => ON (on up position) Question : how to make the needle of the ADF active (pointing in the direction of the NDB beacon) ? Thank's Jean-Pierre Richaume

Checklists - AFE
Hello, The AFE dynamically performs the checklists for all aircraft management steps. Excellent. Missing the checklist for the climb step in the list of the AFE checklists. Would it be possible to implement the AFE's climb checklist in a next update? ---- The modeled Douglas DC-6 is excellent. Congratulations for this modeling. ---------------------------- Jean-Pierre Richaume
