Hello, I just landed after my first flight when i chose my own route, origin and destenation. I have a few questions right now after that. I actually did not takeoff with VNAV on and i wanted to control the altitude myself and then turn on VNAV but when i took of and turned on CMD A I found out that I need to control the speed myself too. Is it possible with VNAV off to control the altitude myself and for the FMC to control speeds? If that is not possible than what speed should i set on the MCP panel? What is the MINS knob on the EFIS panel and what should it be on? BARO or RADIO? And where do I get the information which numbers should be ? Thanks

Yes I have those. NAVDATA folder has like 8 or something files and SIDSTARS has all ICAO codes txt. files. But if it says NAV DATA OUT OF DATE does that mean that I still have the 1108 or do o have the 1802 although it says 1802?

Thank you. I have did it manually because my FMS Data Manager does not open for some reason. It now says 1802 in my FMC. The Charts also do not work.

Hello, I fly the PMDG 737 and today i bought the Navigraph subscription. I installed the Navigraph FMS Data Manager but it did not work so i decided to download 1802 manually. I followed the setup instructions, then went to the IDENT page on the FMC but it still says my old 1108 AIRAC cycle. How to fix that? Thank you

Hello, When I program the route on the FMC and then go to legs page. Do you manually enter the Altitude and Speed or do you just agree with the automatic ones it gives you? Also why does the fmc say RESET MCP ALTITUDE if the altitude speeds are already programmed into the fmc and it just followed them using VNAV. Why? Also what altitude should I reset the MCP altitude to when the fmc says I should do that? thank you

Hello, why do pilots sometimes take off using only VNAV, sometimes only LNAV, sometimes without both. Why don’t they use both at takeoff?

Thank you very much. Today I also got a problem when I put in a random cost index in the fmc. It gave me a maximum altitude of like FL198, but I wanted to fly FL360. I put FL360 into the CRZ altitude next to the one it gave and in the fmc scratchpad it said: ALTITUDE NOT AVAILABLE or something like that? How to fix that?

Why do all simmers on youtube change the speed and altitude on the MCP if they are using VNAV and LNAV?
