  1. Hello; Recently got a Core Flight B737 Compact Overhead panel. It has a 2 pronged EU power cord that says 250v~. I am assuming that it is not dual voltage as my adapter does not work when I try to power it on. I think I need a converter, but all I can seem to find is for using US 110 to EU 240v when in Europe. I need the opposite as I want to plug it in here in the US. Any electrical folks with knowledge of what converter/adapter I need? Many thanks.
  2. Are these folks still up and running? The website seems out of date. Just wondering if their products are still viable for purchase? Thans. John
  3. I have installed the SDK for MSFS 2020 and I am going to add some objects to an existing airport. I think the safest thing to do is to back up the existing information. I found 5 bgl files that cover that airport. Should I backup all 5, or is there only 1 that is pertinent to the objects? Thanks. John
  4. Yes, that is the file. I did download from flightsim.to. Unzipped it and there are 119 files in the scenery\andres3d folder. There is a comment on that page about it as well. That is strange. John
  5. The airport lighting at night around the terminals is basically non-existent in msfs 2020. I could hardly see around the gate area. I found an add-on (the andres3d -airports-lights) but it has only about 120 airports. I am new to 2020, so I am just wondering if there are any other alternatives to this? Thanks. John
  6. The problem turned out to be having MSFS AI ATC Radio Comms turned on in the assistance settings. Turning that off fixed it all. Thanks for reading.
  7. Yes I did. I also had trouble with the baro code changing as well. I did find another that addressed that issue, but I haven't had the chance to dig further into the Com1 problem. It could be because I am not using a PMDG code on the SWAP event, but Com2 is working with the same one. I will keep trying. Thanks.
  8. Thanks for your reply. I have checked a couple others and they do the same thing. For now I am just going to use Com2. I have been trying to learn more about Spad.neXt so maybe that will help.
  9. I got a brand new PC setup, so I am pretty sure this not a driver issue. I have an older Saitek Radio Panel and with Spad.neXt. I am able to load a snippet and have the panel working fine in Spad. I have the 3 decimal places working, so I am sure things are good. When I start up FS2020 and use the PMDG 737-800, the panel lights up and things look ok at first. When I put a frequency in the Standby with Com1 and then swap it, the new frequency moves over and after about 1 second both the active and standby revert to a default value from what was showing in Spad. Surprisingly enough, when I use Com2 everything works just fine. The frequency swap holds just fine. The sqwak also works. I can run the radios off of number 2, but I was wondering if anybody had and ideas on what is going on? Thanks.
  10. Going to be starting with 2020 and getting a new PC for it. I am looking at a Ryzen 7 9800X3D or a Ryzen 9 7950X3D. For the GPU what would you recommend? A 4070/4080? I realize things change quickly and will probably go to 2024 once things get sorted out, but who knows so I am thinking about buying for today and 2020 instead of tomorrow so to speak. Thanks for your input.
  11. Thank you for all your replies. I will be diving into 2020:)
  12. I have never used 2020 and was getting ready to pull the trigger and get into fs2024. I will want to be flying Boeing airliners with some of the hardware add-ons and not really interested in the careers/missions. I am seeing that there are currently not a lot of options as PMDG and iFly are all waiting to be able to get their planes going on 2024. So I was wondering if I would be better served to start with 2020 and learn all the ins an outs of the aircraft/Vatsim, etc. and then move up to 2024 when things get sorted out. I realize there are some really good visuals that 2024 has that 2020 doesn't but I am not sure since I have no reference to compare 2024 to if I would not really be missing that much. Opinions from all the folks out there who know a lot more about this than I do? Thanks much.
  13. Thank you, I will look into it. There is always the build v buy decision. I've built several in the past but it is just easier to get someone else to do it albeit there is a cost.
  14. I don't plan on VR, so this may be good. Thanks.
  15. So true, there always seems to be something right around the corner. Just wondering about will the hype match the price and will there be delays and all the other stuff that comes with new products.
  16. I will have to look into that but I would need a bigger space:)
  17. I need to check in my Internet connection speed too. My last speed test shows mid 70s for downloads
  18. I was reading that they were coming, but I have no idea about the cost??
  19. Hello; I realize there are many opinions out there about what is "best" for FS2024. I did not ever get into FS2020, so there is a lot of catchup to do. I have looked at a lot of video reviews and the like, and think this will be a pretty solid setup. I am going to be flying airliners (B737 primarily). Appreciate any thoughts on this rig: Ryzen 7 9800X3D RTX 4080 Super 64 Gig DDR5 RAM at 6000MHz 2 TB SSD Drive Alienware 34" widescreen monitor Thanks for reading.
