  1. True. It seems like many people expected it to be more accurate. Maybe not expected, but hoped. Pretty crazy how far they've come! Overall I'm impressed with the graphics and overall realism, other than my house. 😉
  2. The game doesn't depict anything even close to an accurate representation of my house. Yes, there's a building where my house is, and the right number of buildings on my street, but the color and shape are not even close to accurate. And the streets look terrible if you land in a residential neighborhood.
  3. While not realistic, flying the Longitude at 558 kn at around 300 ft just doesn't get old. It will be nice to have the flight model fixed, although I'll miss that craziness.
  4. Thanks Stans and Ray. Yes the magnetic sensors are one of the ways I justified the extra expense to myself. (That plus I'm hoping flying low and fast with my terrible joystick will help improve my ability to control a plane, especially when I get a non-horrible joystick. 😉)
  5. Hi all! I've been reading some other threads, but haven't found an answer, so I'm posting a new thread. (Sorry if I missed this somewhere) I bought a CyberPower computer for MSFS2020. It shipped with a SSD 250GB and a good ol' spinny 1TB sata HD. I just ordered a 1TB PCI NVME of Amazon. Seems like the prices on these are starting to be more reasonable. As I understand, I shouldn't have any issue running all 3, but my question is, would it be better to move MSFS2020 to the NVME, and leave the OS on the SSD? (I don't have discs to reformat, so I'm not sure and haven't researched how to reinstall or move the OS to the new drive) In the old days, back when I built my first computer with multiple sata drives, I ran the OS on one and installed my main programs on the other. Seemed to help, although I never benchmarked to confirm. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks! 🙂
  6. I have had some crazy things happen while using this change airplanes feature. I've had the gauges, if in external view triple in size, and I've crashed my PC numerous times. In all fairness, I was purposely doing stupid things. IE: Climbing to 50,000 ft in the Longitude, diving and getting to 580 knots, then changing to the Icon A5 while over 40,000 feet and almost 600 knots. 😉
  7. Yeah, it did the same thing to me the first time. You can drag to resize but it was tricky as heck. I remember thinking the first couple of tries, does this stupid thing not resize? Then all of a sudden I clicked on the exact correct line of pixels. lol
  8. In the main menu go to General, go down to developer, and turn on developer mode. Once you apply and save a little task bar shows up at the top left of the screen. Then anywhere in game, (even in flight) click on Windows, then click on aircraft selector. You can then pick whatever plane you feel like changing to! It does take a few moments to load, but Taaa Daaaa! No need to exit, re-plan a flight. I can't take credit for noticing this on my own. I found a helpful video from quil18 on YouTube:
  9. I have 2, both of which are easily 10 - 20 years old, I'd guess? (Although I'm not good with dates) a Logitech Wingman Extreem and a Wingman Force 3D. Both have the same issues of being super jumpy on the calibration screen in MSFS2020, for the joystick itself and also the slider. I know I can use the throttle control bindings on the keyboard, but I'm having fun forcing myself to use the throttle slider, which is most of the time either 100% or 0%. I've deadstick landed more often than I've landed under power. LOL I decided to just bite the bullet and order the T16000 M. MyPilotStore is saying their next pre-orders will ship on the 26th of this month. Hopefully that turns out to be the case. The longevity of that pot design is one of the things that pushed me over the fence. (plus just how crazy and spastic my current joysticks work in MSFS2020) Thank you both for the replies!
  10. Hi all! I'm a person who just enjoys flying, so I'm not heavy into simulation. ie- I don't care about preflight checklists, radio communications, etc, but I really want an authentic feel and as realistic as possible (well, with what my computer and internet can handle). This seems like a stupid question, but do joysticks go bad? lol As others mentioned, both of my old joysticks were not recognized, so I had to figure out how to assign all the major functions. I then got nervous when I went into calibrate the controls. Yikes! The curves were jittering around all over the place when the joystick was centered and I wasn't touching it. The responses on the screen when I moved any axis, or the slider were super jumpy and all over the place. Since they are all I have right now, I decided to give it a go with one of them. WOW! Barely controllable. I'm wondering if the pots inside the joystick get corroded over time? Or are the controls jumping around like that for everyone in the calibration screen? I'd like to get the Thrustmaster T16000M but want to make sure mine are bad before I make yet another investment into this. Thanks!
  11. I noticed when I was pre-ordering, it said something like "with Game Pass", and I ended up with the "insert game disk" error when I... uh... got off the plan in Kiribati. I took the $1 1 month trial of Game Pass, and the disk error went away. Then I got stuck at 9.8GB for hours, even after trying to reset, so I came back home from Kiribati. Maybe Game Pass is required? (which seems odd)
  12. Only way I've seen is to join the Game Pass. Did that and I got passed that point. However, I'm stuck at 9.8gb for hours. Killed it, restarted it, no go. Rebooted my computer, restarted it, no go. I think I'm giving up my citizenship for Kiribati and waiting till my timezone comes. Hopefully I'll get the download moving then.
