MSFS Auto FPS App
Hi, I wanted to explain some changes I made to improve performance, particularly for VR mode. 1. **Average FPS Calculation Time**: I reduced the average FPS calculation time from 5 seconds to 1 second. This makes the app more responsive to changes, and I observed a significant improvement in performance. This adjustment was initially tested in Flight Sim 2020 before the 2024 release, and it had a very positive impact. 2. **Dynamic TLOD Adjustment Based on FPS Drops**: I modified the FPS mode, which originally relied on altitude, to include logic that monitors FPS drops. If a drop is detected, the app dynamically lowers the TLOD. This makes the system more adaptive compared to the static altitude-based approach. 3. **TLOD Adjustment Based on Aircraft Performance**: I added functionality to adjust the minimum and maximum TLOD values based on the aircraft’s performance. Since performance varies significantly between different planes, this change ensures better optimization for each aircraft type. 4. **Half of Minimum TLOD for Performance Stability**: The "half of the minimum TLOD" setting works as follows: if there are no FPS drops, the TLOD remains at the user-set level. However, if FPS drops occur, the app is allowed to reduce the TLOD to half of the set value. This helps maintain performance stability, especially for users who may have set their TLOD too high initially. 5. **Ground-Level TLOD Adjustment**: I enabled the reduction to half of the TLOD to occur on the ground. This improves performance at complex airports and with complex planes, where ground-level visibility is limited and high TLOD values are unnecessary. These were my changes to enhance performance and responsiveness, particularly in demanding scenarios like VR mode or complex environments.

MSFS2024_AutoFPS for MSFS 2024
This app was created to ensure continued access to the functionalities of the original Auto FPS app after its developer, reset_xpdr, announced they would no longer be developing it. My goal was to adapt the app for compatibility with the new 2024 SIM version and provide the community with an updated solution. Initially, I worked independently to make the app functional, but later collaborated with the original developer to ensure proper integration. While reset_xpdr expressed interest in updating their app for compatibility, they stated they would not be adding new features and directed users to my app for improvements. Over time, my version introduced enhancements, particularly in VR functionality, which led to some confusion in the community about which app to use. The original developer clarified that users could stick with their version for the original experience or use my app for additional features. Recently, I’ve noticed that reset_xpdr's app has incorporated some new ideas and is now actively being developed, despite their earlier statement. To avoid unnecessary competition and confusion, and to focus on my growing family (my 3-month-old son, who has become my top priority) I’ve decided to stop developing my app, as it is no longer needed Thank you to everyone who supported this effort!

I noticed that after latest update my app stopped working so there is a new version 1.0.3.0 that fixes the app not working after latest MSFS update to version 1.0.2.8 and hopefuly proofs it against next updates and memory map changes. https://github.com/kayjay1c6b/MSFS2024_AutoFPS-by-kayJay_1c6

MSFS2024_AutoFPS for MSFS 2024
I am currently working on that, but we have to be careful so we don't have too many settings changing. For what feels like the 100th time, let me clear up the confusion about this situation. When MSFS 2024 was released, Reset initially stated that he wouldn’t be updating his app because of the platform's immaturity at that time (you can check his post in the AutoFPS 2020 thread). If he had announced that he was planning to update the app, I would have waited. Since I really wanted the app to work with MSFS 2024, I decided to make it compatible myself. Afterward, I thought, "Hmm, maybe others would benefit from this too?" So, I shared my work on my GitHub. Then Reset reached out to ask how I got the app working with MSFS 2024. That’s when we started collaborating to make both of our apps functional again after the MSFS update caused issues. Reset later published his updated apps, and that brings us to where we are now.

MSFS2024_AutoFPS for MSFS 2024
I have updated the app to version 1.0.2.0. This version adapts to the newest update of MSFS 2024. Improvements: - There is no longer need to set predefined TLOD and OLOD - The issue with going to the menu / walkaround resseting the app's connection to the sim is resolved - The issue with dissapearing window should be resolved New functionalities: - The app now detects (in vr optimized mode) category of your aircraft based on weight and adds some TLOD to smaller planes (you usually have better performance with them) and takes away some TLOD for heavier planes. So set your TLOD min and max somewhere in the middle and you will see how TLOD min and max change based on aircraft size next to ATLOD. Have a play with it and let me know what do you think. Download here: https://github.com/kayjay1c6b/MSFS2024_AutoFPS-by-kayJay_1c6 I might consider changing my app's name in the future so it is less confusing for users. Again, as ResetXPDR stated he is no longer interested in adding new functionalities to his app(s), he only wants to keep them functional as they are as the versions of sim change. I intend to add new functionalities to the app and in this version there is something I think significant. This is not a competition by any means as we (I and ResetXPDR) worked together to get our apps working so YOU can use them (whichever you like more) and the code is open source which means that anyone can grab it, do whatever they want with it and even sell. On other thread someone even thought that I stole the code. If you don't like my app just simply don't use it. This is getting frustrating.

MSFS Auto FPS App
In my iteration of the app (autoFPS 2024) there is VR optimized setting which does exactly what you say. It sers told based on altitude but can lower the told due to fps drop. I agree that auto told works well but now that I modified it I can see quite often it lowers told due to fps. Maybe it's because I have medium range pc.
