  1. Back when I used FS9 there were tons of very good freeware sceneries available. With P3D I noticed there are not a lot of freeware sceneries. Is there any good freeware scenery I may have missed or don't know about? Here are the freeware stuff I know about SIMMERSHOME – Welcome to our website! (has some good sceneries here) Fangzahn (fangzahn-productions.com) (a good scenery for LGZA) The freeware stuff from Orbx A good freeware scenery for Grand Rapids Michigan can be found here at avsim (grand_rapids_gerald_ford_int_2021_p3d.zip)
  2. DHL International A9C-DHZ This particular B767-300ER was delivered new to American Airlines on February 14, 2003. She wore two liveries for AAL (N343AN) over the next 17 years; the original metal livery and later the custom One World Livery. She completed her last passenger revenue flight on March 18, 2020. Following her retirement from passenger service, she was stored for a short time at Roswell prior to being purchased for an (ER)BCF conversion. She was flown to Singapore (QPG) where she underwent the BCF conversion, subsequently entering service with DHL International in September 2021. Currently, this airframe is now Bahrain based with primary revenue cargo flights through-out the Middle East and the Far East. Shots from a test flight into Chek Lap Kok. Hope you enjoy the photos!
  3. LTU-Sud (Lufttransport Süd) was a low cost subsidiary of LTU (originally started as LTS in 1983 with a small fleet of B757 aircraft). The airline was based out of Munich and operated independent of the parent company LTU (with lower cost flight crews and differentiated labour agreements). Following the new ETOPS-180 ruling, LTU-Sud was quick to adopt the B767 into their fleet. At their peak, LTU-Sud operated thirteen B757-200's and six B767-300ER's taking advantage of the cockpit commonality for their flight crews. This particular airframe (D-AMUP) joined the LTU-Sud fleet new from Boeing on March 30, 1992. She flew with LTU-Sud for the next 5 years until LTU-Sud was eventually absorbed into the parent company and then flew another 5 years under the LTU banner (and an alternate livery). In March 2002, the aircraft was then leased to Hawaiian Airlines (as N583HA). She was subsequently retired by Hawaiian in January 2018. Sadly, this airframe did not make a second (third???) life as a Freighter conversion...she was later scrapped following storage at Goodyear Airport in Arizona. Attached is a pictorial test flight of D-AMUP making a winter leisure trip from snowy Munich to the sunshine of Palma de Mallorca. Hope you enjoy the photos!
  4. So what do you do when you have an excess inventory of retired B767 aircraft? During the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic, Air Canada (as well as Air Canada Rouge) retired their B767 fleets. In 2021, Air Canada announced they would be entering the lucrative Cargo business with 8 retired B767's. This particular airframe is the first of 8 planned ERBDSF conversions for the new Air Canada Cargo. This particular airframe was completed as a cargo (ERBDSF) conversion and delivered to Toronto from Ben Gurion on December 5th, 2021. This particular airframe was actually expidited into commencial service due to the British Columbia floods that started on November 15. 2021 and provided Disaster Relief when the two main transportation arteries into Vancouver and the Lower Mainland (the Hope - Princeton Hwy and the CoquiHalla Hwy) became washed out during this record flood event). Due to the expedited service date, this particular airframe was not painted into the new Air Canada "bandit" livery, but, retained the earlier Ice Blue livery that was it's last visit to the paint booth. This particular airframe was actually acquired by Air Canada through the Canadian Airlines acquisition in 2001 (hence the CA registraion). It carried various colours during it's life: The original Canadian Airlines livery: https://www.planespotters.net/photo/672467/c-fpca-canadian-airlines-international-boeing-767-375er The hybrid Canadian/Air Canada livery: https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/10414306 As well as this current livery. Eventually, it will be painted into the new "bandit" livery incorporated since 2017. https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/10419401 Personally, I haven't grown accustomed to the new bandit livery...I still really like this older ice blue (toothpaste) livery. Hope you enjoy the photos! Happy New Year!
  5. Hello Running a fresh P3D 5.3 + HF1 and the latest Active Sky (that I could find on their webpage). Took my fave turboprop for a spin (B350i) into ESSA / Arlanda. METAR was 23013KT 9000 OVC005 04/03 Q0993 NOSIG. However I broke through the overcast at 1.500ft AGL instead (1.700ft QNH 993hPa) , which is a big difference vs what was reported. I am running with EA and "Enable detailed EA clouds" checked within AS. Is this a known bug? Can I do anything to fix this? I was hoping P3D would do a better job depicting our low stratus cloud deck. But today was actually worse than both MSFS and XP11 (real world weather on both sims). In general v5.3 performs fine on my end, no issues with broken addons etc.
  6. I currently have Digital Design's Tenerife South (GCTS) scenery installed in my sim. I also have (but NOT installed) MK Studios Tenerife North (GCXO) scenery. I would like to know if the MK Studios GCXO scenery will work with the Digital Design scenery. If it does is there something I have to do for them to both work? And I do know MK Studios make both Tenerife North and South sceneries, but I like the Digital Design version of South better.
  7. I would be in cockpit view then when I switch to spot view my AI planes and some building would be black. I would wait 15 to maybe 30 seconds then the textures would return to normal. Is there anything I can do to speed up the textures loading?
  8. Should have this one wrapped up by tomorrow. Really like this paint scheme! Researching this one, it turns out this aircraft primarily flies the PHNL - KLAX route (6 times per week) with an occasional excursion up to KSEA. Although I'm not a fan of the winglets on the 67, I couldn't resist giving this one a try.
  9. This is another interesting livery: So why paint this one for the CS B767-II? 1) This repaint was actually requested over on the CS forum 2) I was looking for an interesting, European repaint to cover 3) Nostalgia: Back in the early/mid 2000's, I was living/working in the UK. At the time (FS2004 I recall), the Level-D B767 (and previous version - PIC767) were THE "study level" sim to have. I still remember walking into a computer store in Aberdeen City Center (yeah, remember brick and mortar computer stores???) to pick up my boxed copy of the LDS 767. I don't know how many hours I spent at the screen flying that sim...all very enjoyable hours! LDS continued to support FSX and 32 bit versions of P3D for many years to follow. In my LDS boxed set was a complimentary (PAL version) copy of an 83 minute ITVV DVD showcasing the pre-flight prep, departure, flight, aircraft systems review, visual approach and flight summary of Leisure Flight 705 from London Gatwick to Orlando, hosted by Capt Dave Henry and F/O Norman Port. It was my very first, full length "aviation geek" video! That DVD also covered my first exposure to Trans-Atlantic NATS routes and ETOPS planning (although topics covered much better in the Just Planes Air Canada A319 ETOPS video I purchased many years later...but I digress...). Of note, during the video, Capt Henry discusses the evolution of ETOPS-60, ETOPS-120 and ETOPS-180 for the B767 aircraft. At the time of filming of the video (early 1994), Leisure was operating under a modified ETOPS-138 rule to cover Atlantic crossings on all available NATS tracks. For a little more history, the video also covered the newly introduced and mandatory TCAS equipment and system just introduced for US flight operations. On another, but, related side note, back in the late 90's/early 2000's I was on a Business Trip in Myrtle Beach, SC. I went to a local Books-a-Million and purchased a copy of a book (Airliner Color History Boeing 767 by Philip Birtles) which has about 8 pages dedicated to photos of Leisure International Airways. Yeah...I really, really like the B767! I know, get help, right?!?!?! Leisure International Airways operated Holidaymaker Charter flights from the UK to US/Caribbean destinations between 1993 thru 1998 starting with two leased B767-200's. On April 1, 1993, they took delivery of their first, new, B767-300ER (G-UKLH - The Caribbean Star) showcased in the above mentioned video and took delivery of their second aircraft two weeks later (G-UKLI - The Atlantic Star, represented in this CS B767-II repaint). I obviously never flew this airline, but, this particular livery has stuck with me all these years. Oh...and I'm not lost on the irony of using the CS B767-II to talk about the LDS 767 software that came 15-20 years earlier! After the demise of Air UK (the parent company), both airframes remained as a pair through various charters ops and since 2015 still remain paired, both flying for CargoJet as ERBDSF conversions, as C-FGSJ and C-FDIJ respectively. This was an interesting repaint with custom made artwork for the Leisure name banner, the Tail flag as well as the forward port side logo (aircraft name). Hope you enjoy the photos! Departure from Gatwick: Departure On to warmer climates...
  10. Here are some teaser shots... I'm not sure I'm ready to publish this one just yet...not quite happy with the tail at the moment...I want to see if I can clean it up a little more. Also quick flight to check out my new Orbx Cityscape Sydney scenery. A little history on this one... Australian Airlines was founded in 2002 as an all economy brand of Qantas, operating a fleet of five B767-300ER's that were transferred from Qantas' existing fleet. The Australian Airlines namesake was actually re-purposed from TAA (Trans Australia Airlines) which Qantas acquired in 1992. The Australian Airlines B767 aircraft flew both domestic and international routes, with a primary focus on serving Japanese markets when the airline first commenced operations. Though a relatively short lived airline, the brand was discontinued in 2006 as Qantas elected to focus on, and consolidate, their relatively new Jetstar brand as a competitor to Virgin Blue/Virgin Australia. The five Australian Airlines aircraft were subsequently returned to Qantas livery following their withdrawal from service as an independent leisure brand. This particular airframe continues to fly today...delivering little brown boxes for Amazon (N569AZ) having just completed a freighter conversion within the last 2 months. Prior to Air Transport International taking delivery of this airframe, she also wore the Westjet livery (C-FOGT), as one of four aircraft acquired from Qantas when the B767 fleet were retired by Qantas in 2014. For Westjet, the newly acquired B767 fleet was a "stop-gap" solution for their entry into international long haul as they awaited delivery of their new B787 Dreamliner fleet. While Australian Airlines may be a distant memory, fortunately for us, this colorful Australian Airlines B767-300ER VH-OGI livery will continue to live on in the world of flight simulation! Hope you enjoy the photos!
