Not really a new feature, but one that has somewhat sank into history a bit, is the AVSIM registry of nation flags and your ability to use them in your signature. Here are the easy steps to including your country's flag in your signature. First, go to the CIA World Fact Book: https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/ In the drop down list at the top right of the page, select your country. Let's use Algeria as an example. Once your country's page has loaded, look at the URL in the browser address bar. For our example of Algeria, here is what you would see: https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ag.html Note the two letter "ag.hmtl" country list. In this case, AG equal Algeria using the United Nation's approved country abbreviations. Okay, so then, using the following URL, click on the IMAGE ICON in your signature editor, and input the code for YOUR country in this form: http://forum.avsim.net/public/style_images/flags/ag.png This would result in this flag showing in your signature: Remember to substitute AG with your country's two letter code and keep the ".png" after it. Members are now allowed to place their system specifications, information about their preferred flight simulator, and listings of add-on's in the signature space. If you would like, you can remove the information from your Profile or keep it there. The AVSIM Board of Directors' would like to thank our membership for your cooperation in the past when asked to remove this information because of loads on our system. Please continue to abide by our other signature rules, especially as it applies to no advertising. Number of lines in your signature, sizes of banners and no advertising links still apply. Members are reminded to follow the AVSIM rules regarding using the signature space in your profile - http://www.avsim.com/index.php/AVSIM%20Pages/sig.html Members are encouraged to place information about their computer system in their signature as well as their favorite flight simulator and the addon's installed with your computer. Please remember you cannot exceed five lines of text. Placing your system specs in your signature will help other members assist you in the event you have problems with your flight simulator. It may also help members decide on future computer hardware purchases when they see what others are using to run their simulator. A sample entry of system specs is in my signature. Best regards,
