RXP GTN 750/650 Touch v2.3 XP11 released

Featured Replies

Hi,

the new RXP GTN 750/650 Touch v2.3 with official support for XP11 is now released!

Those of you opting for the auto-update notifications should get the info the next time you start X-Plane tomorrow.

Otherwise, you can get your copy right now in just downloading the e-commerce installers from our website.

Here are the release notes:

  • New: Officially released for XP11.
  • New: Compatible with the latest Garmin GTN Trainer 6.21.
  • New: GPS satellite reception failure (waas/no-waas/failed).
  • New: Failures for COM, NAV, XPDR and Audio Panel independently.
  • New: Screen brightness light source setting.
  • New: Keys brightness (integral lighting) source setting.
  • Enhanced: TCAD ghost threats eliminated.
  • Changed: this version only supports Garmin GTN trainer v6.21 and v.6.1.1.

Introduced for the first time in any of our Garmin GPS simulation, failures gives you additional challenges:

Garmin Trainer 6.21

The link to download the trainer is:

http://download.garmin.com/software/GTN_GDU620PCTrainer_6211.zip

Among other things it now offers:

  • Fixed-Wing (Obstacle/HOT Lines) and Helicopter (Obstacle/Wire) Database
  • Updated Navigation, Basemap, Obstacle, Terrain, SafeTaxi, and FliteCharts databases

With the new Helicopter obstacle and wire database, HTAWS takes a new dimension:

Important:

The GTN trainer 6.01.1 database files work with the GNS. However, the latest GTN trainer 6.21 database files are different and no longer work. Before installing the new Garmin trainer v6.21, you might want to save a copy of your GTN Trainer DB files for later!

GTN Failure Annunciations

For those not wanting to read the whole manual again, here is the new chapter about the failures.

The GTN plugin uses the following datarefs as failures sources

"sim/operation/failures/rel_gps", "sim/operation/failures/rel_g430_gps1"

Satellite reception failure, displays "No GPS Position"

"sim/operation/failures/rel_gp"

Differential GPS failure, reduces location accuracy. Satellite reception mode switches to 3D instead of 3D-Diff."

"sim/operation/failures/rel_com1"

COM radios failure only.

"sim/operation/failures/rel_nav1"

NAV radios failure only.

"sim/operation/failures/rel_navcom1"

Both COM and NAV radios failure.

"sim/operation/failures/rel_xpndr"

Transponder failure.

"sim/operation/failures/rel_marker"

Audio Panel failure.

Hi,
Thanks for the upgrade. It is working great.

Then, any idea when we can have the addition of importing flightplans into the trainer?

This is an interesting feature indeed, although we have bigger plans for the GTN and the GNS beyond this.

  • 3 weeks later...

hi:- ) sorry to bother you but with this new release the sim ( both XP11 and xp10 ) crash 90% of the time and when i can use the gtn it show everytime " no GPS ..." and the NAV and trasponder are disable (red cross on them)

i read the manual but i didn't find anything helpful.

i have the latest Trainer installed.

Do you want me to post some file to help you to understand the problem?

with the previous version i didn't have any problem.

Thank you much!.

The failures show if your X-Plane failure datarefs are set. They are all listed in the manual and you might want to cross check with dataref editor if what you see in the GTN corresponds to what you see in the datarefs? Please let me know if not.

As for the crashes, v2.4 is near release (just delayed because of the cold out here). Let's wait for the new one and we will work from there then.

I checked the datatef once and if i remember well they were set to 0

The problem is that now it crash all the time. It doesn't even open the window.

I'm really stuck :-(

I really hope the update is coming soon.

Thank you:-)..
