Win10: 777 RAASPRO and missing FS2AUDIO.DLL

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I recently made a clean install of Windows 10 on a new hard disc, and all is fine - with one exception: everytime I start FSX I now get the following error message:

'The FS2AUDIO.DLL Failed to load with Error Code 0x7e. Be sure the FSAUDIO.DLL is in the \Windows\System32 folder, then restart the application.'

The problem is that this file doesn't exist anywhere in my system, and never has. In Win7 all was fine, despite it having no FS2AUDIO.dll either. (I still have my old Win7 hard disc with all programs, and made a search).

I have tried the following, without success:

1. Searched the net for a possible solution, found nothing that helped.

2. Copied a FS2AUDIO.DLL from an old b-737 download, however this file is completely ignored by RAASPRO. (Also copied it to SysWOW64)
3. Made a repair of the Acceleration installation.
4. Uninstalled and reinstalled the PMDG 777. (Version 1.10.6492)
5. Rebuilt the Fsx.cfg.

So what have I overlooked?

Best regards
Bo T.

Full names in the PMDG forums please.

There is an active FSX forum in AVSIM where this might have better luck getting an answer.  Regardless of that, your fsx.cfg file has little to do with dll files, try looking at the dll.xml file in the same directory.  Also, I don't think FS2AUDIO.DLL is a RAASPRO or PMDG... maybe FS2Crew?? Just guessing, about the same luck as you're having. Try the right forum.

OOps,Sorry about the name.

downsscc: Thanks for your suggestions. As for forums, I have had a look at that of Fs2crew, no luck. The RASSPRO is part of the PMDG777 installation, so to post it in this forum doesn't seem all that irrelevant to me, (No offence).

Further, It is a indeed a RAASPRO related problem, below is a copy of my most recent RAASPRO.log, and dll.xml:

The RASSPRO is part of the PMDG777 installation, so to post it in this forum doesn't seem all that irrelevant to me, (No offence).

It's not irrelevant, because, yes, as you mention, the 777 uses RAAS.

...however, we didn't make the program, so in order to get support, you're honestly better off there because they'll be better equipped to explain why you're seeing the error and how to fix it.

If I have a 777 with GE engines and something gets weird with the engines, I'm calling GE and not Boeing.

Scandinavian13: okay, point taken, disabeling RAASPRO for the moment, at least getting rid of the error message!

Thanks for all replies.
