RC and Opencockpits MCP

Recommended Posts

Hi Keith,I use a Aerosoft MCP with Project Magenta and RC4. I see no reason why the OpenCockpits MCP wouldn't work successfully with RC.You just need to be aware of the general rule that the RC co-pilot can only control the autopilot of default FS aircraft and not those of 3rd party aircraft such as the PMDG range.Just make sure the RC plan and the plan in the CDU/FMC match and you'll be fine.Cheers,

Ray,Thanks for the reply. I have the Opencockpits MCP running Ok with the PMDG 737 (without RC)and LDS 767 also in FS9, and the Leveld 767 running in FSX. However, I have a problem in FS9 when running RC with the PMDG.Before running RC the 737 operates well with the MCP, but as soon as I connect RC all works apart from heading increase. I have been helped by a guy on an Opencockpits forum who has produced a script that runs with the 737 and this works fine normally. He has said the following "But eveything that is related with HDG in my files is actually using FSUIPC offsets as there is no key press required for that. I am also thinking whether RC is somehow trying to read these offsets or somehow blocking it. Maybe you might wanna take this into consideration too"I have not really any idea about these offsets, but do you know if this is the case does RC read FSUIPC offsets?many thanksKeith

Hi Keith,...do you know if this is the case does RC read FSUIPC offsets?RC does read some offsets from FSUIPC but none that I know of that should affect heading. Pete Dowson can probably answer this question on his forum here http://forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?...581de6c24feedf9Cheers,

RC does read the heading offset I would think for monitoring heading compliance during vectors. Note that on the general settings tab you can specify heading tolerance. Aircraft position coordinates, speed (in certain phases), and altitude are always read.RC for default aircraft uses the A/P heading control to let the RC copilot control the aircraft as this is a standard FS aircraft control feature. Only during copilot control would RC be writing to offsets (regarding aircraft control) other than using COM control offsets by the copilot or if you have autotune enabled.Other offsets regard reading AI and weather information and if enabled in certain situations writing to AI control offsets are used.
