I hope this post is seen as constructive criticism as that

I actually think it is right on and Araine is off looks off and too bright when compared to real pics. It maybe could use a little more brightness or tint of purple but its fine now very close. One problem I noticed is the yellow stripe on the engine is too small. Look at the pictures it is much thicker. Can this be changed. Thanks Keep up the great [email protected]

Justin, Thanks for you comments on the Spirit livery. Depending on lighting conditions when a picture was captured, I see several shades of the blue/purple. The shade I've used was taken from one of the reference photos that I used as a guide in painting this livery. I will add a bit more purple to closer match the images you've provided and make adjustment to the engine and fuse cheat lines. All of the liveries shown to date can be considered as Alpha/Beta quality. All of the liveries will be revisited prior to release to insure that we provide the closest match to their real world counterpart. Thanks again for your observations.

That last real life pic almost looks like the beginnings of neon-blue.

Pete,You can find some pictures of the canyon blue livery inside a hanger at airliners.net. That way cheap film or sun light isn't altering the actual shade. Thanks,Justin P.

Justin-In my experience pictures taken within a hangar are the worst offenders for color distortion. Most large facilities use halogen lighting because it is so cheep to operate... The orange/pink of the halogen changes the color of the photographed subject quite a bit...That being said- I haven't a clue what makes for "good" lighting... I'm lucky I can operate a camera! :-lol

And let's not forget FS2k2's lighting system that alters the colors. I took that screenshots at dusk, during regular daytime it looks very different.

Robert,Thanks I stand corrected... its just that from the pictures i've seen on airliners.net the ones from inside the hangers looked the best. Maybe the guy just had a real good camera and great film. Look forward to the release... Thanks!!!Justin P.PS. Marc, if you have a moment could you possibly post a daytime shot? Would love to see it. Thanks so much!!!

Justin,Pete is currently making some changes to the Spirit livery so I am going to wait until he's done and then post some daytime screenshots.

As always, just a matter of taste and artistic impression.I personally got the pantone values (the ones used as "official" references for manuals and definition of logos) for some airline logos, and they just didn't render the same way as their real counterparts shown on aircraft liveries.Just pick three random pics of the same livery at airliners.net and you'll for sure see three different major tones in them. Then just add some gradient to that main color and for sure you'll diversify one more time the final result from what it was supposed to be.But as someone mentionned in a previous post, if the main purpose of discussion about a plane is the final shade gradient of a livery, then the whole thing is on the right way :-)Just my two cents ...Pascal Linder
