July 1, 200322 yr I purchased the 737NG this morning and after the usual download kerfuffles installed it to my FS2000 system on d:fs2000. I had one test session with the plane - and wow! Note that I did not use the registration process, just the 10-day trial. I figured I'd wait while the registration process got itself sorted.Later this afternoon I found my d: disk was almost full, so I moved the complete FS2000 folder to h:fs2000 using an intelligent application moving program. All works on the new disk, except when I try to select the 737NG I get: Invalid machine code. Your PMDG license is invalid or has expired.I'm stuck. I've tried everything I can think of , including re-installing: no joy. I can't register. I can't transfer registration. I can't use the plane. So, guys, your security procedures certainly work, but please, how do I get out of this one? Thanks - Pete Harrison
July 1, 200322 yr I haven't gotten the software yet, but is there an unregister option anywhere? After you unregister I'm sure you could re-register. PMDG will be on this in no time :]
July 1, 200322 yr Pete-sorry about the inconvenience. Now let's try to work this out-First of all, I hope you are referring to your FS2002 installation and not FS2000. ;-)Could you do me a favor and follow the steps I have listed below - The steps for upgrading hardware/transfering is:1) Start FS20022) Go to the FS2002 menu bar and you will see a new entry called "PMDG".3) Go to the PMDG pull down menu and select Registration Details, then Transfer Code.4) If you are sure to terminate the current license, press okay.5) You will get a transfer code. Write it down!6) Upgrade H/W7) Get a new registration code from the register window again. 8) Now send the following to [email protected] transfer codenew registration codeorder #You will receive a new license key.Let me know how it works. Thanks!
July 2, 200322 yr Sorry about the FS2000/FS2002 confusion: it's been a long, long day. I'm showing my age. You're lucky I didn't write FS2... :-) I meant FS2002, of course. Also thanks for your almost instant reply.OK, I had tried your instructions (found 'em elsewhere on the Forum) before my original append. Here's the Catch-22:1) I can't start FS with the 737NG selected (Invalid Machine Code...) so I start it with default Cessna.2) I go to the PMDG menu and select the Produce Transfer Code command and it says: You must have loaded a PMDG aircraft to activate the Unregister/Transfer dislog. Please contact Precision Manuals Development Group Support.3) But I can't load the PMDG aircraft... it gives Invalid Machine Code...Round, and round, and round, in my little cage. That's why I'm stuck! Thanks - Pete
July 2, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi Pete,Unfortunately, the security program gets VERY upset when you move things FS and PMDG related around. Best bet might be to delete the folder with muti number label (5688-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) inside the modules folder and then try AM's procedure.Paul GollnickTechnical Operations/Customer Operational SupportPrecision Manuals Development Group[www.precisionmanuals.com] Paul Gollnick Manager Customer/Technical Support Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
July 2, 200322 yr Ah, okay - now I understand. Thanks for making it clear to me (it's been a long day over here too ;-)).Can you do me a favor and go into your FS2002/modules folder and see if there is a folder that has a long code as its name, something like xxxx-xxxx...Thanks.
July 2, 200322 yr Start of a new day in what G.W. Bush calls 'Yurp'...I located the folder described and deleted it as instructed. Re-started FS2002. The 'Invalid Machine Code' message has gone away and I can select the plane. The cockpit flight displays have nasty messages on them. The 'Your PMDG license is invalid or has expired' message remains and will not let me operate the Transfer. Now what, please? Thanks in advance - Pete
July 2, 200322 yr Gentle bump - still stuck in your security maze. 24 hours now. Still pleading for magic commands to help get me out of this. Thanks - Pete
July 2, 200322 yr Pete,Just a little more patience. Awfully sorry about all this. I'm not the expert on those matters but as soon as one is around (that will be soon), you'll have more advice. If you feel you've been forgotten, just gently re-bump ! :-)ThanksanthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com

July 2, 200322 yr Paul - Does this mean that anytime the MSFS install is moved to another drive on the same machine we need a new code? Just move the install, no hardware added. If so, this is going to be a real problem for some of us. What is the purpose of tightening the security in this manner? All is does is make it harder for both of us to get anything done. I'm all for keeping Pirate Pete out of the locker room but it's getting to be a bit much. There are other less-intrusive ways to get the job done. If everyone takes an approach like this our hardware is going to become unuseable for anything other than playing games. Speaking just for me, I'm about to stop buying any add-on and just going with the already excellent freeware offerings. July 2, 200322 yr Commercial Member Pete-please send an email to [email protected] with your purchase order #, as well as your registration code, as in the instructions (PMDG -> Registration -> Extend registration etc). When you do that, please cc: me as well at [email protected] so I can sort out any issues. We're issuing registration codes all day, so we'll get to you asap.Cheers, Lefteris Kalamaras - Founder www.flightsimlabs.com
July 2, 200322 yr Thanks to Lefteris and the rest of the PMDG team, I am now up and flying. Look out, birds, Cessnas - and maybe sheep if I do my usual final approach... :-)Great support, guys, thanks.- Pete
