Color banding on main panel

Featured Replies

I've seen from several submitted screenshots, that I am not alone in getting color banding/blotching on the main panel. It looks as if the panel is being displayed in 16 bit color..Most noticeable on the center window post..My screen resolution is 1280x960x32 and the panel bmp files are just finewhen I open them outside FS..Anyone know why this is happening?

Bert could you provide some detail concerning your video hardware, driver configuration and version and FS2K2 video settings. Will help to try to diagnose your issue.Thx,George

Hi George! Are you implying that your system does not show this?See attached..My config is a P4-2.4 512 Meg, Video GF4-4200-128Meg,running nvidia 43.51 drivers.FS settings: 1280x960x32 resolution.Somebody just published a flood of screenshots in this forumand the panels exhibit the same behavior which leads me tobelieve this is more than just my rig...

Just checked out the textures and indeed they are 16 bit :( going to convert them with image tool ;-)Strange several are 32 but a few are indeed 16 bit ;-)Just testing and update the textures as we speak :-)Tested has nothing to do with the texture it looks like a light effect issue in FS and the model...Andr

Andre, most FS aircraft come with 8 bit 2d panel textures.. and most of us use 32 bit resolution for the display setting..No problem..I have no idea why this panel is displaying the way it is..
