July 6, 200322 yr Moderator Randy,Sorry if this is stating the obvious but you need to extend flaps and lower the gear.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 7, 200322 yr Some reasons would be;*Excessive descent rate*Excessive terrain closure rate*Altitude loss after takeoff or Go-around*Unsafe terrain clearance when not in the landing configuration*Excessive deviation below an ILS glideslope*Bank angles and descent below selected minimum altitudes*Windshear Hope this helps you ;)[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. July 7, 200322 yr Commercial Member Randy-I agree with you that our terrain avoidance appears to be a bit over-sensitive.I have asked that it be reviewed for accuracy.... Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
July 7, 200322 yr Hi Rob,Some way to "silence" the GPWS call-outs would be better for those of us that share our simming with our wives/significant others in the room too :). (Mine has made various smart comments on my flying skills since I've started using this bird :) ).Thanks,Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
July 7, 200322 yr "I hear the TOO LOW FLAPS but why does TOO LOW TERRAIN happen"TOO LOW TERRAIN warnings are dependent on airspeed, aircraft configuration (flap setting/gear) and Radio Altitude. Warning threshold modifications are made in some cases by vertical speed.Next time it happens, can you Pause the sim and record all of these parameters for analysis?Cheers.Ian.
July 7, 200322 yr I had a "PULL UP" Warning on a visual approach (non-ILS runway) the other day. I was in landing config with no excessive banking or descending...ideas?Ian
