July 11, 200322 yr Commercial Member Leo,The master light was not installed on our panel due to only one FD installed. It was discussed but with a single FD would always be on and not serve much of its intended purpose. July 11, 200322 yr Yes, I realize that it wouldn't serve the same purpose as it does in the real aircraft. However, since flights simmers basically emulate flights in which they are always both captain and PF (and co-pilot and PNF as well) it would be on in the real aircraft under those similar circumstances. So yes, it is a minor issue, but I do miss it, since my panel simply is not the same as it would be in the real thing.Leo Bakker
July 11, 200322 yr Leo, Dont mean to sound rude, but dont you think the guys at PMDG have enough to worry about right now without you bringing up minor points like this? There are some major issues that are being dealt with which are spoiling many peoples enjoyment of the product. An FD light that serves no purpose in this sim would not be high on my task list.Regards,Glenn Harrall
July 11, 200322 yr Glenn, I see no problem with posting major or minor points.. I assume the folks at PMDG can prioritize and decide what to do first and what not to do at all..My view is, that having charged a higher price than most add-ons with the promise of "as real as it gets", they have raised higher expectations within their customer base. I for one, will not let them off the hook.. Bert
July 11, 200322 yr I'm sorry but I just have to respond. :) Did you view the screenshots and/or check the feature list for a flight director light prior to purchasing? If so, why does a little white light put PMDG "on the hook"? I don't recall the lofty claim "There will be a litte white light above the flight director switch" being made. :)-Shaun
July 11, 200322 yr Hi Glenn,As I said myself, it is a minor issue. But I do feel I have the right to point out that I don't agree with a decision that was made on this issue, also because I think the general reasoning behind it is wrong and could therefore influence other issues as well. But I've made my point now and I'll leave it at that. Also, I'm in no way trying to discredit the sim's achievement. If you read all my posts you'll see that in the first one I already complimented the team with the sim, even as it stands now. And where I see people question the sim's behaviour where I know the sim's right and their expectation is wrong, I've also made some contributions (thereby lessening PMDG's burden in answering). So I think all in all I'm just giving my views here and there, pro and con, major and minor. It's entirely up to PMDG of course to do anything with them.Regards,Leo Bakker
July 11, 200322 yr Hi Leo,I have no problem with that, I just feel that things like this could wait a few weeks while the major problems are ironed out and the mass of posts has died down a little.Personally, my major problem at the moment is with some stuttering around landing and major scenery etc. which I can only assume is because of the HUGE memory usesage that I am seeing this aircraft use. I know PMDG are working on this issue so hopefully that will be sorted out soon. Hopefully they will then start to deal with the smaller items (like you mention) which, if their is enough demand, will be fixed in future updates. Regards,Glenn Harrall
July 11, 200322 yr Shaun.. I am not talking about the FD light.. as I stated, I'll leave it up to PMDG's judgement as to what they fix/implement and when..My point is that it is fair game to point out any and all features that are missing from the sim, compared to the real 737NG. It is not for this forum to throttle people who have legitimate requests or observations.. Bert
