Main panel.

I have not yet purchased the package so I am basing this on pictured posted on the web.The package looks great an I intend to purchase the aircraft after the few minor issues have been fixed. What I don't like is the pilot's perspective. The panel looks too small. I see the same with Dreemfleet's 737 and Captain sim's 727. I like a nice big realistic cockpit where I get the feel of being behind the controls. In a real airliner the pilots perspective is rather limited. It just dosen't look realistic! Why don't you guys make the panel larger?? I would think people who purchase an aircraft like this does it because of it's complexity and realism and not to look at the scenery between airports.Christian.(ATP, CFI,CFII)

There is more than enough to do, to stop you looking out the window. Also if your so hung up on that kind of thing, the Ryan in FSACOF, will suit you perfectly :)Jason

I am really not commenting on the complexity of this package. It looks like a really good simulation of the 737 and I am not trying to degrade this package at all. I am just interested in why PMDG, Phoenix, Dreemfleet makes the pilot's view(2d) to high. I like 767PIC's option where you can drag the panel vertically and make it bigger/more realistic looking. The Ryan in FSACOF......What is this??Christian.

hi,Actually I hate it when you cant taxi in the 2d panel view and have to turn the panel off. This is the first complex airplane where I can actually taxi from the 2d panel view. :-) I like the view plenty of visibility which is what you want when your landing.Andrew

>In a real airliner the pilots perspective>is rather limited. In a real airliner, at least according to some 767 pilots who frequent the 767PIC forum - the outside visibility is outstanding. They also noted that the main panel perspective in 767PIC is completely wrong (one even remarked "how can you fly like this"). Fortunately for us PIC users some good folks provided us with the landing view - the only time you can enjoy a semi-ok perspective (and not miss those cat I ILS approaches in minimum IMC).I see absolutely nothing wrong with the panel perspective of this package. All the instruments that should fit in this view fit very well. It is actually those other "big" panels that look very unrealistic with completely crooked perspective. There is no aircraft in the world where my nose would fit just about where the yoke is. But to their defense they had no choice - to show all the necessary gauges they had to do it, thus what they can do is give us landing view, etc. Piper Meridian is a good example here. Very difficult to do it any other way. Therefore they give you all this scrolling capability if one wants. But with the completely different layout of this 737NG you don't have make this big panel - it all fits nicely because of side-by-side arrangement of the two primary displays. A320 is similar. And I still suspect that this 737NG panel view is too 'nose-down' comparing to the real aircraft. And if you talk about instrument 'size' - get yourself a Fresnel lens and it will magnify everything for you to life-size dimensions. This is what I have been using and this is what gives you this multi-million $ commercial-sim feel.Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg

With 4 differnt 2D forward views I think you'll find the view you want...And if not-the clickable VC in FS2004 should do you fine ;)John

Hello guys. Thanks for the feedback guys. I have over 3000 hours behind a real instrument panel so I think I know what's realistc. I am currently captain for a U.S charter carrier. The most realistic package out there so fare is the 767PIC.I am not talking about the systems etc, but the pilot's perspective. The worst is Phoenix's A3XX, very unrealistic view. Christian.

"LOL, If you have 3000 hours behind a real panel you should know that the 767PIC panel view is totally UNREALISTIC. I recently got to try a 737 full motion sim in Toronto as a gif from my wife and I can assure you the outside view was excellent.

"I recently got to try a 737 full motion sim in Toronto as a gif from my wife and I can assure you the outside view was excellent". That's great that you got the chanse to try a full motion simulator. I bet that was an experience you'll never forget!...I bet you are an expert on the correct pilot's perspective now....I have to go in "the box" and do a check ride every 6 months. Why is it that there are so many out there with the correct answers but with 0 hours in a real aircraft with more than one turbine engine??Christian.
