August 1, 200322 yr Just curious. Since Active Camera is going payware now, will there be a way to view the detailed passenger cabin in the NG without purchasing this additional program? Andrew
August 1, 200322 yr Hi Folks, have read the same thing on a German Site and was frightened about that news. It seems that the community is loosing their spirit.read you...MighBTW: I by myself have made some things with GMAX (Scenery and Aircraft)and other Tools, so i know exactly what it means to develop software. This is only for those, who want to argue with development related things :-smooch
August 1, 200322 yr Good question, I was wondering the same last night when the Active Camera module was released. I think it is a very strange situation. Now that AC has become payware, who is responsible for us, PMDG users, who are not able to walk around in the VC cabin any longer without having to buy AC? I did not read anything about a developers liscence for AC like the one PMDG has for FSUIPC.Is it fair that users have to buy a piece of software to use all functions of another piece of software? At one hand you van say it IS fair. We have to buy Windows xx to run FS2004. On the other hand, is it fair that users can not use functions of the software anylonger, functions that were advertised for, because the other developers quit supporting the other program (or ask money for it)?To be honest, I'm afraid it is up to PMDG to write their own Active Camera. Personally I will not use the VC cabin very often but now and then I'd like to walk through my "plane" and talk with the passengers whilst in midair. And I'd like to do this without paying for yet another piece of software. {sarcarsm on} Ahhhh, FS is becoming like politics more and more. It's all about money?! ;) {sarcasm off}Regards,Lennart
August 1, 200322 yr Commercial Member This has already been addressed in another post in this forum.Yes, if you wish to view the cabin as you did in FS2002, you will need Active Camera for FS9.VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/blueguymend.jpg Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com

August 1, 200322 yr Yes that is nice but when i fly the ost of the time i'm in the virtual cabin to see the view, and i'm waiting for your patch so that i can install FS9. And then ???????You had promisid me a Virtual Cabin, how can i use it with out selling a other product to use it ??????Gilles Ensink
August 2, 200322 yr Commercial Member Gents-PMDG is not responsible for the direction of functionality within Microsoft Flight Simulator 9: Century of Flight. If the Virtual Cockpit that we have designed for use using FS2002 is not available in FS9CoF because of a decision made by Microsoft, this is a most unfortunate event. You may still access the Virtual Cabin using available tools in FS2002.The Active Camera freeware program is not required in FS2002, but greatly enhances the VC experience. If those authors have chosen not to make their program freely available then each consumer must decide whether this functionality is desired within FS9.PMDG support the decision of all developers, commercial or otherwise to freely determine how to distribute and promote their own software. Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
August 2, 200322 yr Just my humble opinion, it's very frustrating to see almost everything useful getting payware. It feels as if the spirit of offer, the spirit that transformed, in a way, flightsimming to what it is today, has almost vanished. Nothing bad about making profit from your work, but what happened to the "hobby"?Call me romantic but i can't help noticing it...Anyway getting aside of the romanticism, tonight (it's 3:52 AM here!) is no sleep but simply waiting! hehe ;-)P.S.: Vin, was the blob's injury and (as i see) treatment the real reason behind the delay of the patch??? Just kidding!(That incredible humour did very much to lighten up many of us, during the long wait, believe it or not!) :-)
August 2, 200322 yr Commercial Member >Nothing bad about>making profit from your work, but what happened to the>"hobby"?The "hobby" has become so complex that it's nearly a full time job for folks like PMDG, Pete Downson (FSUIPC) or Anticyclone. (makers of AC) They need to have something coming in for their efforts or they won't have the time or energy to make their products. This isn't FS98 anymore where someone could churn out an addon quickly - this is real programming. I'll bet the NG has 100,000 lines of code in its systems.
