August 4, 200322 yr I've searched the forum and there are couple of other threads on the subject, but I didn't find a definative answer. Are the failures on the drop down menu working?I've seen a few pwople mention the V1 engine failures work, but I have not tried these yet myself. However, I have tried and APU bleed failure, APU fire, Window heater overheat, Elec Hydraulic failures. I set them all initially to fail in 10 seconds, however, nothing has happened.I am running with the patch released today (Aug 03). I removed the first install with the utility, reinstalled form the origional files, then installed the SU1 patch.Has anyone been able to get these failures to work? Perhaps I'm missing a step somewhere...
August 7, 200322 yr Hi PMDG,Is this something that is going to be in the 800/900 release or is it supposed to be functional in the 600/700?
August 10, 200322 yr I'm bumping this too, as I attempted to fail some systems and they definately did not fail.I've only seen the threads relating to the V1 engine failure, but that's the one I am least interested in! What is the position of PMDG on this? Error? Omission? Not functioning by design? Being worked on?-Greg Germanowski
August 12, 200322 yr Ah well, why not put in a little "bump" as well.BTW, I really enjoy this very peculiar internet forum lingo. I try NOT to ask what something means but try to find that out from its context, but I remember I just couldn't figure out what ROTFL and its many variations stood for and actually had to ask (blush).Maybe it's more difficult for those of us who speak English only as a second language?Leo Bakker
August 12, 200322 yr Please don't take this the wrong way, but as a customer, I find the complete radio silence by PMDG on many "bug report" threads a bit troubling. Users don't know if you read them, don't read them, don't care about them, have already fixed them, etc. Why should we bother to submit bug reports if they fall on deaf ears? I suspect they really are not falling on deaf ears.Sometimes there is active PMDG participation (e.g., the VNAV pinned thread), but then there are a whole slew that I am worried fall through the cracks. It wouldn't take much to say "problem noted" or "already fixed", etc.Just my opinion. The fact that folks need to bump their thread seems to indicate it might be shared by others.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
August 13, 200322 yr For Leo and Dave...I'm going to take this opportunity to once again "bump" the thread. By "bumping" it, I am bumping it up to the top of the list - moving it to the first most recent message posted to, and therefore hopefully getting it to the front page for a little bit. When on the front page, we hope to get the thread noticed. Hence, when I found the thread on page 3 or 4 today with no answer from PMDG, it was "bumped" up. :) Biggidy-bump.-Greg Germ
August 13, 200322 yr HiI too find the lack of responses to genuine concerns quite disconcerting. They seem to have plenty of time to respond to irrelevent screenshot posts though.I guess support is in the eye of the beholder.Best RegardsTed
August 13, 200322 yr Posted Missing Development GroupProgress Mainly Delayed GroupAll we ask is a short answer, if anybody is home, and with respect, not from beta testers, I don't see how it's their job to field questions of this type. Just a simple yes or no, are failures modeled?Tell you what, while I'm a bit in rant mode here, for the -800 instead of me paying you $40 for the privelidge of recieving a faulty product and waiting for fixes, how about you pay me $40 and I'll help find the faults!!
August 13, 200322 yr Commercial Member Robert,Several of the team members have finally gotten around to using up a little vacation before the summer is up so the peolpe who would definatively know the answer aren't available to answer right this moment. When they get back I am sure that they will answer your questions. August 13, 200322 yr I usually get a vacation when the workload is not so busy, not in the middle of an incomplete project.I think people have been very patient given the on-going issues with this payware product.I know there are a lot of people who have not purchased the product -yet- and are taking a "wait and see" attitude..as I am. The longer people wait, the less interested they become IMHO.Am I correct in understanding PMDG is planning to soon release another payware 'upgrade' (800 series) to a product that has not even been fully refined yet? Say it ain't so?Rob.
