August 4, 200322 yr Arghhh,NOT the new car comparison again!!! Dude, that argument went out of style with Windows 95. I don't know of many car dealers that give refunds; but they do promise to fix defective items free-of-charge... which is exactly what PMDG is doing. So what if they broke your cigarette lighter when they fixed your transmission - try to put things in perspective! I'm pretty sure they're working on it - in the meantime, use matches. Thanks,Marc
August 4, 200322 yr Same for me. VNAV "worked" BEFORE the patch but not after:Tested in both FS2002 and FS9 (Both after virgin install of all components)Any ideas?GreetsArt Vandalay
August 4, 200322 yr Hi, Art, Jens, PMDG, and other ;)Meanwhile I assume this problem to appear in combination with 'our' SID/STARs and their constrains. Obviously Jens, Art and I are using German SID/STARs (available at navdata.at) - Art, did you remove the STAR contrains manually?HansJuergen
August 4, 200322 yr Moin, moin !Art, I know about the weather here in Germany at moment, but: keep cool :)I'm also faced with this problem - like you, Jens, and others. Yes, it appears after SU1. Yes, it's a fault. But: it's more than chance, that it happens to a lot of people, using SID/STARs from navdata. And: I did a workaround by playing with the constrains, included in these files.Try e.g. e flight from EDDM to EDDF - a flightplan with a SID and a STAR, witout any additioanl w/p: more than 6 flight level constrains. It seems, the complex SID/STARs, you (and other) offered to navdata, may cause unknown problems, which are not seen by people do not using these files ?!OK, might be, that's total wrong, but nevertheless, I look forward to understanding the problem and to getting a solution ;)HansJuergen
August 4, 200322 yr Sorry Robert, i excuse me by you for my bad words! The VNAV problem is definitively not a problem with SU1.HansJuergen has the proper Tip!Danke Hans J
August 4, 200322 yr Jens,I'm glad to hear, that my suspiction did help you ;)But I'm quite sure, that this is an SU1 problem - and PMDG now hopefully will be able to reproduce this issue very easy: go to navdata, download the SID/STARs from EDDM, EDDP or EDDF and try to fly from Munich(EDDM) or Leipzig (EDDP) to Frankfurt(EDDF) ...HansJuergen
August 4, 200322 yr OK... well, i do have the same VNAV problem everyone seems to have.. but -- i also can not see any of the sidstars, and i coulnd't in fs2k2 either. (now use fs9)I installed them correctly to the correct folder as per what it said in the forum, but --- NOTHING! i can't use vnav, and i can't use SidStars. I copied the 76PIC date into the correct folder, but it doesn't read the sid stars, while it reads the correct airinc cycle (on the date entery in PREF) .. Please Help!... danny.
August 4, 200322 yr Hello guys,i dont think that the VNAV-Problem has something to do with the SID-STAR-Database!At least in my Case not:I dont have any SID or STAR stored in my Navdata-Folders,but i have the VNAV-Problem too...Sorry Hans-Juergen,i wished it would be the Solution in my case too.I think PMDG has to think about the Problem, because it worked good before SP1.Im looking forward to the solution of this Problem!Greetings Wastl
August 13, 200322 yr After Patch I, I cannot also engage the VNAV.FMC just shows speed and dashes instead of FLalways 240/---I tried to delete the altitude contraints and reinserted it or even tried to fly without constraints. No luckCheersMusashi
August 13, 200322 yr Musashi,Sorry to be a bit blunt here, but I think you must have missed something in the pre flight preparation of the FMC or you had a dirty install of the patch. Try with a clean route, manually entered and without WPT alt constraints and an entered CRZ FL. It WILL calulate your FLs if entered correctly. ;-)Please report back and if possible attach any relevant information, flight plans, screenies. I'm darned if we couldn't get you into VNAV! :-)Cheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
August 13, 200322 yr You are quite right, Mats. Making better flightplans and checking out the constraints really gives VNAV a chance to work, but not for all I guess, depending on how you are patched :)
