August 7, 200322 yr :-hangHope I don't get flamed for this, anyways I'll share what I did :-rollhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/28997.gifImage #1: Added default FSim icon for clock and linked it to the chronometer found in the approach panel but this to show up only when pressed like the default function on b747. Edited background for MCP panel to show a TOGA instead of the screw we used to press in order to get the Take Off Go Around power in the thrust.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/28998.gifImage #2: CDU popup displaced to the right for it not to cover the MZALFOTRI windows display panel.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/28999.gifImage #3: Also Throttle popup displaced to the right for it not to cover the MZALFOTRI windows display panel.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29000.gifImage #4: Added the clock gauge to my favorite view on the panel also.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29001.gifImage #5:A- Edited the textures for Copa Airlines livery to correctly show the registration on the back, since the default one had this so small that made it unreadable.B- Corrected the Flag orientation on the right side of the airplane, PMDG had my country flag backwards on that side. I forgive ya' tho' (-:That's all...FYI: All these settings were done with small adjustments to the panel.cfg, except for the TOGA on the first image which required main gauge editting. Now it's working like a charm for me.Thanks again amigos,Gustavo B. :-bigangel
August 8, 200322 yr Yes I can see where some would really like that clock and throttle-FMC placement. I am sort of a master tweaker myself, here is a little just for fun stuff.... EDIT: There are 6 modifications showing ;) http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29035.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29036.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29037.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29039.jpg1] White border around Flight Director Switch2] White border around Autopilot Disconnect Bar3] Added the word "ON" above Flight Director Switch4] Moved the the letters "FD" up more5] Flight Director Switch now can been seen in day when switch is "ON"6] Highlighted Flight Director Switch at night when in the "OFF" positionOf course this does not include the panel bitmap modifications and all the gauge sets to match perfectly but you get the gist ;)[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. August 8, 200322 yr Good work guys, The Throttle and FMC mod would be a great addition, and Randy the mod you have made to the F/D switch is just plain cool, now if we could just adjust the numerical displays to fit the background and remove the floodlighting on the MCP it would be absolutely wicked :-hahNick :-abduct
August 8, 200322 yr Thanks guys, Now take a look at the FD and AT switches, notice anything extra? ;)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29052.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29053.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29054.jpg[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. August 8, 200322 yr Randy,You added some reflections on the end of the switches? If it is, it lok really good! And what about that other panel tweak you showed us in another thread? I never managed to see what you had done in that shot! ;-)Regards, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
August 8, 200322 yr I have one question - how do you put the boxes round the switches. Can it be done with something like FS Panel Studio or does it need a paint program. Thanks
August 8, 200322 yr Yeah you got it! It's not so simple as it looks either! Well on every MCP for the NG I have a picture of it has the white at the tips of the FD and ARM switches. We also have a problem *seeing* the FD in day *ON* which I fixed too. In my other thread I changed the center post. You can see it better in this thread. I am right now tracking down the digit color background. The problem lies with the headingcourse and IAS-MACH windows being that the gauge digits do not stretch across the whole windows and the bitmap color is not exact so and this shows issues more in night. I don't know if I can fix this but will at least try ;)EDIT: Bill, You cannot change them with just a paint program. For the ONE box around the FD I had to modify 8 items if that gives you an idea and each had to perfectly MATCH each other. Not only that you have to know what and where to access to change, not simple feat! One more note, without direct consent from PMDG I will not be releasing this to the general public. The files are copyrighted material and belong to them ;) It does show what can be done though... [h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. August 8, 200322 yr How you like these DIGIT BACKGROUNDS? Looks WAY BETTER in game for NIGHT, jpeg does not do a good job here showing but you get the idea ;)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/29103.jpg[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. August 8, 200322 yr Randy,>> How you like these DIGIT BACKGROUNDSI like it and I assume everyone will like that. Now, if showing this does not have the only purpose of getting my admiration for your FS insight (granted ;) ;)), any chance to at least point me or everyone in the right direction how you did that (as you said you can't release it to the public) ?Mike
August 8, 200322 yr Very nice, very nice indeed !If you can share the "digit-night-fix"I would be immensly grateful.RegardsEF
