2D cockpit images stay when changed?

Featured Replies

Hello All -This is my first post on the PMDG forum, and I must say this is a great airplane! Fly's great, and the LCD panels are just super! However, I do have a question regarding the 2D panels. I only fly using the 2D panel aircraft option.. When I change panels, i.e. from Shift-2 to Shift-3 let's say, the last panel that I was on does not unload. Instead, all the panels continue to display unless I unload them by pressing the same keys that I used to load them in the first place. i.e. If I open the first main panel using Shift-2, I must use Shift-2 again in order to close the panel prior to going to the Shift-3 panel or landing panel... I'm not sure if this is supposed to work like this or not, but it is something that I am definitely not used too, nor do I really like it. Anyway, if that's the deal, then I can live with it, I just want to make sure it's supposed to work this way. I apologize if this has been discussed already. Thanks, and looking forward to furture versions of this great plane!-Qbert

Glad you are enjoying the aircraft! Hi there,in short: yes, it's supposed to work this way. There are numerous possible situations where you would want to have more than one panel open at a time, so this option actually makes sense. However, all panels contain the 'MZALFOTRI' buttons, which allow you to change between panels. Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg

Hi Gosta -Can you expand on the MZALFOTRI buttons? I've never heard of using those before.. I tried each of those keys while in the plane, and they didn't do anything. Although the 'Z' key turned off the autopilot :-)Thanks!-Kevin

Kevin --On the main panel you will see MZALFOLTRI. This is a gauge that is used to switch panels :) Each of those letters means something. M for main, F for FMC, T for throttle, etc.

Ummmm, he meant (Gosta) that you push those buttons on the PANEL itself. Look just above the pilot's flight display, you will see a line of letters (MZALFOTRI), use thse to switch panel VIEWS. The "I" is not implemented yet so ignore that it does not switch to anything. This panel switcher (MZALFOTRI) is not in the same position on each 2D panel.....[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J.
