September 15, 200322 yr Where do you get that information that it says "APPROACHING MIMINUMS"? I see a option for PLUS HUNDRED and MINIMUMS
Best Wishes,Randy J. September 15, 200322 yr Author thats the point THIS AIRCRAFT IS MISSING APPROACHING MINIMUMS!it is NOT with the package, it is in REAL LIFE.:-roll I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
September 15, 200322 yr Maybe you did not understand my question to you. Where does it say that a 737 NG calls out "APPROACHING MINIMUMS"? I don't see THOSE WORDS in the manual Clayton. It says PLUS HUNDRED and MINIMUMS but the PLUS HUNDRED might be a extra option meaning that it is not on all aircraft. If someone has any other information please feel free to correct this..
Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-8/196432/winglets_lg.jpg
AMD XP 2200 |MUNCHKIN 512 DDR RAM |ECS[/b ] K7S5A MB |GF2 MX 32 MEG and still runs GOOD!|WIN XP PRO |MITSUBISHI DIAMOND PLUS 91 19"
Randy J Smith
September 15, 200322 yr Author ok,i understand, the aircraft does not come with the Approaching Minimum call out, but what I am saying is that the REAL 737 has it, so why has it not being included in the 737NG package? I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
September 15, 200322 yr Hi Everyone, As far as I am concerned, as I set the minimums altitude, I am more interested in a 'Minimum' callout rather than an 'Approaching Minimums' callout. From the previous callout I know that the next callout is similar to a V1 callout. When you hear that 'Minimums' verbalize you take immediate action. For all I care the callout could be SHAZAM. For me, the important issue is that there is a callout, alarm, at 'Minimums'.Regards to all
September 15, 200322 yr Clayton, I will look into whether this is an OPTION or a stardard item in the NG. There are MANY things on the NG that are buyer options, one aircraft might have only ONE FMC where another will have 2 installed. The options cover most aspects of the aircraft. So just because you see one on say SouthWest does not mean you will see it on Virgin.....
Best Wishes,Randy J. September 15, 200322 yr G'day ClaytonJust wondering where you did see that the aircraft has a GPWS callout of approaching minimums.QF crew technique is for a call of 100 Above to be given by the NFP and responded to by check from the PF.Not sure if DJ have a non-standard fittout on there GPWS so it will be interesting to find out where you got the info fromAll the best
September 15, 200322 yr Author i got the information from watching a video of a real Air Lauda 737-800 landing in Egypt. It was a video at a site devoted to 737. I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
September 15, 200322 yr G'dayYou wll find all airlines can taylor exactly what callouts/Flight director modes/huds when they order the aircraft from Boeing.I would imaging the Lauda people use the approaching minimums GPWS setting as opposed to most other airlines who have a crew co-ord technique of having the pnf call a hundred above. The ability to customise your aeroplane when new is a great feature of modern aircraft and PMDG have allowed for this with the options as to what callouts you want in the setup menu. Its pretty hard for them to cover every airlines little nuance's and i think they have covered all the major bases pretty well.QF's aircraft do not have this callout as i spoke to an 800 Capt about an hour ago on the phone. Not sure about DJ's but i will enquire. All the best and enjoy the NG
September 15, 200322 yr Not sure what's on ours, Darren, but here's a few options....http://members.ozemail.com.au/~b744er/737/...ode6Options.gifThe note on the diagram says that these are all the options, but I do know that is possible to get custom callouts for airline customers.Cheers.Ian.
