September 27, 200322 yr Hey guys -I still am having FMC problems. I finally moved all my FS2002 navdata folder over to FS9, but that didn't solve all the problems.. I am able to finally enter an airport id in the REF: line, but I eventually get crazy FMC error messages... I don't think the FS2002 folder move was the right thing to do.. Where should this data have come from in the first place? It was never installed by default in my FS9 directory... Anyway, if someone could send me the files in their navdata directory, it would be greatly appreciated! Unless there is a better suggestion. Thanks! My email address is [email protected]!
September 27, 200322 yr Friendly reminder, you need to sign each post. There is nothing different between NAVDATA files in FS2002 - FS9. Moving them is not an issue whatsoever. Crazy FMC messages are not descriptive of your problem. Please indicate exactly what they say and what you are inputing to cause the messages. What I think your true issue with this is the SID+STARS. Of course those do not belong in the NAVDATA folder. [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. September 27, 200322 yr Hi Randy -Okay, I put in KPHL as the ORIGIN airport, and immediately I get "KPHL err: 08 rwy unknown" and I keep getting messages like this (BTW, I haven't even designated a runway yet..) I put KLGA in for the destination and I get "KLGA err: EDJER unknown".I have the Airac in the FS9PMDGSIDSTARS directory. And I have the following files in the FS9fmcwpnavdata directory: Approaches (directory)FlightPlans (directory)SIDS (directory)Stars (directory)airports.datwpNavAID.txtwpNavAPT.txtwpNavFIX.txtwpNavRTE.txtAlso, does it state somewhere in the manual to install these files from your FS2002 directory? What if I didn't have FS2002, where would I get these files from? Thanks for your help!Kevin
September 27, 200322 yr This is a SID STAR issue for sure, does not matter that you have not actually loaded a runway, all you need to do is input the ICAO. I have not checked those particular airfields but whatever versions you have are wrong or have mistakes on those lines. Maybe someone with knowledge in the syntax can help you out here. September 27, 200322 yr Hi Kevin, the easiest solution is to remove the PMDG/SIDSTARS directory contents altogether (I recommend just moving the whole lot into a newly created subdirectory called 'backup'). There seems to be a major incompatibility between the AIRAC and the arrival/departure procedures you are using. This way you'll lose the Sids and STARs, but the rest of your navdata will be working. You can program the procedures according to the charts anyway, it's no big deal.Cheers,Gosta.P.S.: If you're feeeling adventurous and have a lot of time on your hands, you could check the Airac data against the Sid/Star data and edit the inconsistencies acordingly.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
