October 10, 200322 yr Hi Drew, the SIDSTAR files for KPHX, KABQ and KDEN reference a navaid called 'FMN'. If this is not in the Airac database, you will get an error message from the FMC. Editing the Sid/Star file accordingly will solve the problem.Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
October 10, 200322 yr Is this just an issue with the 0310 cycle? I'm guessing it is, because I didn't have any problems with the prior ones. . .I just reverted back to the 0309 cycle to at least finish my flight. Which file am I supposed to look into to edit? Thanks for the quick reply!Regards, drew KLGB
October 10, 200322 yr Hi Drew, just edit the SIDSTAR file for the airport that's causing the problem, e.g. 'KPHX.txt'.Remove any entry that references the non-existent or missing navaid.Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
October 10, 200322 yr Hi Everyone,FMN is the Farmington New Mexico VOR. I believe Richard from Navdata either missed it or something is wrong the SID/STARS.I think Richard may have missed a few VOR's in 0310 this time. The FMN VOR/route for SIDS out of Phoenix is an important one and is still valid. At least is still shows up the the r/w terminal procedures book for Phoenix and New Mexico accordingly. What I don't understand is that even though I get the FMN error, I have no other information for the Phoenix airport upon departure. No other SIDS or runway information. It doesn't recognize it all all.Can someone comment on why this is?Thanks,BrianPhoenix
October 10, 200322 yr Hi Brian, the SIDSTAR file makes a reference to the FMN VOR, but no corresponding data is found in the Airac files. As a result, the SIDSTAR file is not loaded, hence you get no airport data, apart from its actual location.Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
October 10, 200322 yr Hi gents, the FMN Farmington VOR is added and you can expect this missing VOR in the next cycle 0311. I haven
October 11, 200322 yr Hi Richard,Hi guys,In the meantime for those of you who can't wait for the next update you can open the wpNavfix file with a text editor and add the following line:FMN FMN 36.748392-108.098900Now you have the FMN VOR in the database.Michael
October 11, 200322 yr Michael-I was going to add the FMN VOR as you suggested, but my wpNavfix file already has a VOR at those very coordinates - RSK.Do I still just add this one?Al Liebowitz
October 11, 200322 yr Hi Michael, the VOR should into the wpNavAID.txt file and not into the wpNavFIX.txt file :-)Servus,Richard
October 11, 200322 yr Hi RichardOpps, my mistake. in the hurry I wrote the name of the wrong file. Sorry guys for the false info and thanks to Richard for making the correction.Michael
October 11, 200322 yr KSAN 27 approach doent have a GS it is a LOC APP only.....you have to hand fly it to the numbers......I think its because of the city so close to the Airport that a GS is not possible to have in the real world......
October 13, 200322 yr Hi Everyone,I'm not sure if I did this correctly. I replaced RSK(Rattlesnake) with FMN(Farmington) in the NAV section and I still have the same issues. Can someone advise if this is the correct action to take? Right now with PMDG, you can't get any data for Phoenix(KPHX) because of this error. No runways, SID/STARS or anything. Thanks for your help.Brian
