October 21, 200322 yr Commercial Member As SU2 approaches, we wanted to share with you some of the visual and functional enhancements you will be seeing on the external model and in the VC. This is just a small sample of the dozens of fixes and additions that we have prepared for you. Do you like to Fly from the VC?Now you can program the FMC (either right or left side) from the VC.All 140 buttons are clickable!!! (FS9) http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/44391.jpgThe main panel of the VCWe've added a lot here! Now fully functional and clickable (FS9) are:The entire MCP and EFIS, the N1 Selector knob, the Speed Ref Selector knob, Test panel, Flaps Transit Indicator Light, Flaps Extend Indicator Light, Flaps Relief Indicator Light, Autobrakes: Over 60 click spots on the VC main panel alone! And did you notice how tall you've gotten? We've put you up on a couple of phone books for enhanced visibility! :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/44392.jpgWing ViewsUsing the non VC model now gives you wing views when in the VC....http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/44395.jpgAnd you can now see the wing from inside the 2D cockpit!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/44396.jpgEnhanced night lighting in the VCIt is now richer, and closely matches the gauges. Some of the lighting has been toned down, like the front of the throttle console, and the seats. No more squinting ;-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/44397.jpg [/font color=green]The list of visual enhancements is a long one. We'll be posting it along with all the other hundreds of fixes as SU2 grows near.VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.vinscimone.com/dancnkid.gif Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com

October 21, 200322 yr Man oh man!!! That looks sweet flying from start up to shut down in VC mode is the only way to go!! Great job guys!!Vin, one quick question. At night at cruise altitude, is there now going to be away to shut off the VC night lighting? You don't want to have the cockpit all lit up while scanning for traffic at FL330. Just the glow from the panel displays. Thanks. Eric

October 21, 200322 yr Looks ok.What about "comma as decimal separator" bug?Did PM address the issue in upcoming service release? Even if it is Microsoft bug it is still YOUR software people paid for, and this is annoying bug.Jack Stro
October 21, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Jack,Thanks for the reminder that this is our software. After spending so much time with it, we had all forgotten. We are also relieved that people are paying for it.As I said in the post above, we will be releasing a list of all the fixes that will be included with SU2 prior to its release. Thanks for being patient a little longer :)Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.com Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
October 21, 200322 yr Well, I responded to Part 1 with my favorite part as being more clickable gauges in the VC. Now that I read this I am like WHOA! Sounds incredibly delicious. :9"And did you notice how tall you've gotten? We've put you up on a couple of phone books for enhanced visibility!"One of my posts in here from way back was that I felt like a 6 year old that needed phone books when I switched to the VC. A nice person responded that I could use the Shift-Enter and Shift-Backspace to adjust the height, which works great of course. But still, it's nice to see that PMDG has provided 6 year old pilots like me with some phone books. :-lolThanks PMDG, :)Jimmy Richards
October 21, 200322 yr I love all the new stuff.Any idea on how this will hit visual performance (frame rates)?I've been flying the 2D model for so long because I want the performance - will there be a big hit in the VC?
October 21, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Tim, In short, no, there does not appear to be any hit on FPS. In fact, we optimized the VC textures considerably (a 12MB reduction since SU1), that people, especially those with lower memory video cards, may actually see some beneficial effects.VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.com Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
