November 16, 200322 yr does anyone know whether the su-2 will allow us to see the traffic on the nav display like with the pss products? i certainly hope so seing that i used to use the 737 classic pack from flight1 and it showed traffic.regardslyle
November 16, 200322 yr Lyle -Negative, it won't do that in SU2. TCAS is coming in the 800/900 as stated by the PMDG team. As also stated, the reason they are waiting for the 800/900 is that they want to make sure they do the TCAS system right. EDIT: Just want to say, there is a big difference between 'showing traffic' and 'implementing a TCAS system' ;)
November 16, 200322 yr Curious though, maybe Randy can answer. If the TCAS is going to be introduced with the 800/900, will it be backward compatible with the 600/700 or will we have to purchase the 800/900 to get a working TCAS? May have to invest in the Ariane one if I have to buy the whole 800/900 package. Thanks, can't wait for the SU2!!!!!!Joe G.
November 16, 200322 yr Fred can answer this one :D It will be backwards compatable. All new changes made in the 800/900 series will work with the 600/700 series. Like TCAS, and (not sure if this is 800/900 or BBJ/Mil variant...) the planned HUD.
November 16, 200322 yr I'm not sure if your question was fully answered here. You asked, "Will it be backward compatible with the 600/700 OR will we have to purchase the 800/900 to get a working TCAS?". The answer as I understand it is BOTH. You will have to pay seperately for the 800/900 package if you want the added functionality contained in it, but the functionality will propogate into your 600/700 as well.-Shaun
November 16, 200322 yr Purchased is the key word here. We have to understand that the 800-900 is a all new sim unto itself (but will work seamless with the 600-700), the TCAS it will have is unlike anything you have ever seen like Fred made mention of. The also goes for weather radar ;). Take a look at out CWS, that's the type of quality (no Mickey Mouse job on quality or realism). No pricing has been set for the next phase or if current owners will have a discount (this *might be the case but until PMDG anounce this it's best not to speculate).[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. November 16, 200322 yr thanks for the info. Are u saying that the -800/900 will have a weather radar? if so that would be amazingly sweet.adamYou cant truley understand flying until you have actually tasted and felt it.

November 16, 200322 yr It would be nice for PDMG to take into consideration the hundreds of dedicated simmers that have already purchased this product before the 800/900 release and have patiently waited while it was fixed, when they decide pricing for the 800/900 release.Kind Regards,
November 24, 200322 yr I'm sure you know JL4 TCAS II implementation. Could you please tell me if I can expect something like that?Best regardsJos
November 24, 200322 yr I have purchased the Ariane TCAS and am quite happy with it. Not near full reality or capability but provides accurate advisories and probably the state of the market right now for FS, fits ok on my PMDG panel. Not a bad interim solution until PMDG releases the 800/900 series which I'm sure will raise the bar...regards,
November 24, 200322 yr I too purchased the Ariane TCAS but it doesnt seem to work online with VATSIM traffic.Yes I use AIBridge but it still doesnt work ?You got any Idea's as I exclusively fly online and nothing else :(JohnP 2.53 GHZ512 RAMWINXPGFORCE 4 128MB Ti4600http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewerhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicator/status.php?id=815145;indicator=BAV01

And besides, they have already stated that the 800/900 will be at a reduced cost to owners of the 600/700 series.
