and this is why PMDG is #1......

Go check out the PSS forums and you will quickly understand why PMDG is taking time to release the SU2. My post is to simply state that since I purchased the 737 I've flown almost 50 hours in this bird and have loved every minute of it. One Happy Customer,Tony

As an SU2 tester, I will absolutely guarantee there will not be a PSS-style debacle upon the release of this patch! We would never let that happen to this product! The plane is absolutely rock solid right now, the team is just trying to get the very minor things fixed so that *everyone*, will be happy!Seriously though, I can't wait to see the public reaction to this update - you're gonna be shocked and amazed by what the NG is capable of now. The proceedures in particular are just amazing - the ND line drawing is correct now, waypoints sequence as they should, missed approaches are there etc... The CWS feature is amazingly cool too - I saw someone saying that the PSS Airbus autotrim did it first, and I'll say that is complete BS - this is the real deal - it holds exactly what you command using the NG's custom-AFDS, PSS's just tried to use FS's trim to catch up to where you released the stick - this is not that, it actually works!Maybe I'll post some screens for eveyone later - the wing view in the 2D only version is totally cool - I let it autoland the other night while just watching out over the engine and wing - felt like I was sitting in first class!Ryan

Well you have me drooling now! The wife thinks I'm nuts for being this excited over a "dumb computer game" :) Btw, Can't wait to see the screenies Ryan!! Andy

Funny thing, I was about to post such a topic as this when I saw the threads about PSS. I just hope they take as much time as needed to make this a smooth update, which I'm sure they will.Oh...and lets see those screenshots. :)

Hi Ryan,I was the person that you refer to regarding the post on PSS Airbus's fly by wire simulation. Here's a thought. Why don't you READ my post before you misquote me and call my post "complete BS"? I never said, ANYWHERE, that PSS's fly by wire simulation simulated a boeing CWS. I was replying to someone who indicated that it was generally believed by some that CWS was "impossible" to do right. I was simply stating that PSS's fly by wire simulation certinally proved way back then that it wasn't impossible to simulate a CWS.I also left completely open the possibility that I was COMPLETELY confused about how Boeing's CWS works, because I don't know much about it.Please, before you call my words "complete bull****" again, at least TRY to READ and UNDERSTAND them first. Thanks. :)-Shaun

>Go check out the PSS forums and you will quickly understand>why PMDG is taking time to release the SU2.Couldn't agree more, they have a bona fide fiasco on their hands. Their 'patched' products are essentially unflyable junk now...I was satisfied with their 2002 stuff but even then it didn't hold a candle to the likes of DF, FSD, and the PIC team...I am a new PMDG customer; all I can say is that I'm very happy so far! The 600/700 is a brilliant product that will only get better!!Tom

There has been some grassroots progress on getting the aircraft to work properly. Granted, it should never have to come to that, but at least they are becoming usable. The situation is really bad, but I'm over my personal ANGER with them because I have flyable aircraft now...For info on the homebrewed workarounds, visit [a href=http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=134&topic_id=24139&mesg_id=24139&page=]this thread[/a].Oh yeah - and I too am looking forward to the 737 patch with the words "TAKE YOUR TIME AND DO IT RIGHT!"... but I'm not worried about it. :) (edit): Signed, Greg :)

Count me in the NG has been performing very well sans SU2. I will not even bother putting PSS into FS9, until the problems are all fixed. Do not get me wrong I own them all in FS2002! I love my NG!Tony

Well: I appreciate all of the efforts of both houses. It takes a whole lot of dedication to make these planes usable. I like my NG for the jet routes, and I have the Dash 8 flying the short stuff to regional airports. I think they both do a good job. I am sure PSS will get the Tq gauges going, and really, the Dash 8 is kind of fun to land in windy stuff on a short runway. Keith Whyte

Let's take a step back.Dumb Question really but whats a CWS? :-hmmmCheers!
