High Humidity Water Condensation on Aircraft

Featured Replies

Hello PMDG Team. I wanted to make a suggestion for your upcoming release. I have recently checked out the PSS airbus products which have a pretty cool feature. They incorporate water condensation on low pressure areas of the airframe (i.e. Engine inlets and off of flaps and winglets.) This as I'm sure we all have seen produces the fog effect in the engine inlet and a stream of vapor off of the wingtips or the flight control surfaces when the humidity is high and the conditions are right. Anyhow, it is perhaps the only visible indication of the aircraft's interaction with the environment. I think it would make a realistic addition. What do you think? Just my 2 cents. Thanks,Shane LewisAtlanta, GA

hi,I reckon those effects would look quite nice on the 737.Andrew

Where heve you seen pictures of this. I could not find any at the PSS website. Sounds pretty cool.Graham

Here's another example of when the wing looks wrong to me not massively ofcourse;http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/50734.jpgMaybe it is just me, mind I can't wait to get the PMDG NG, if not for this great looking paint!Paul

You do realise of course, that on these pictures the flaps are set, and therefore makes the leading edge of the wing look "fatter"?

Yea, I see what you mean, they do look thinner, although I think that PMDG did the model after the specs. Also those photos might trick a little with the angles and light, but I agree they look different.I forget to sign my name once in awhile...oh well. :)Mikkel

Hi Mikkel,I

Here are some pics, i also understand the Airbus has a flexwing, you can see it in the pics with high angle of attack or you can watch it bend at touchdown. Can you imagine seeing the wing bouncing around in turbulence or steep turns, and seeing vapor trails off of flaps and winglets from the VC or VCAB? Just ideas for great additions to a great PMDG airplane. Look at the engine inlets and the winglets in these pics and you can see the cloud formations. By the way, I happen to think the PMDG a far superior aircraft in all respects, however, it would be neat to have some of these effects modeled.Shane Lewis

Who need this? All I want is the OPT/LIMIT FMC feature. NOT implemented in SU2. NOT happy with the priority PMDG has done.(A bit off topic but.....)Eker.

You should try the IFDG MD11 with the ACS panel. It looks absolutely stunning on takeoff with the trails comming from the wingtips and flaps.

lloks great--looking forward to SU2--where can i get the ACS Panel?
