I hope you have your tongue firmly in your cheek, Andrew. There is very little difference in the general automated flight capabilities between the current generation of Airbus and Boeing airplanes. The number of "button pushes" is similar for both. And in neither case will button pushes alone suffice.Don S.

>boeing is trying to get up to standard with it's>automatisation, the lack of it is a pure incapability of the>designers... sigh...And just where is Boeing not "up to standard" in terms of automation? And what lead you to conclude that any differences between Boeing and Airbus automation philosophies and implementations are due to "a pure incapability of the [boeing] designers?Don S.

Actually, I didn't think anything of it...For some straing reason I heard the GPWS saying that.I didn't take offence to it at all. I havn't read the other replys yet but just wanted to tell yall what I thought.

Hey Don,didn't mean the message in the way you took it apparantly.the sigh was there to kindof make it look alike: 'i can blab about boeing aswell as you can blab about airbus'... so no need to take it seriously ;)(that's what you get if you're not used to using figurative way of speech in other languages..., my bad)

Ha!Don't worry 'bout it mate! :) When I first saw it I didn't think anything of it. Mind you, the first time I flew an airbus and it said "retard" I was a bit shocked but I got over that! I guess you have to fly the airbuses before you understand them.;)@Anthony>The airplane is actually looking forward to the day when it doesn't >have to rely on these "retarded" humans for anything.I bet they do but they're not quite ready for that yet (not that airbus havn't tried ;)) A little while ago Airbus and Air France tried to fly a "pilotless" A320. It wasn't very successful...http://www.najaco.com/aviation/videos/videos_3/6.htmI bet the autopilot would have been screaming retard after that ;)Cheers!~Liam
