December 9, 200322 yr ok i probably didn't choose the best name but i have a sister with cerebral paulsy paul so i can assure you that it was'nt intended in the way that some seemed to take it! it's kind of a shame that people automatically think you're having a go.lol anyway i guess i'll change it.good news on the ryanair repaint by the way!come on SU2 that will be a week tomorrow the notice went up!!!!callum.
December 9, 200322 yr I would have thought that someone with a relative with cerebral palsy would have had a little more common sense.Obviously I was wrong.ScottYBTL Scott
December 9, 200322 yr why do you say that?as sombody said the name was meant to reflect a famous airbus call.it's a shame that people have to take things in such a way.i certainly know that people who might be classed as 'retarded' wouldnt have got upset at that so why must others.seems like people just dont like such things being brought up as it obviously causes them some embarresment.regards, callum
December 9, 200322 yr Hey come on now.. 'Retard' is also an aviation term.I doubt Callum selected it with any ill intentions. Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
December 9, 200322 yr Saw your name and didn't think any more of it.Be an individual - stick with the name.I saw something similar where a guy thought the Airbus call was a reflection of his ability to fly the plane.Andy B Andy Brockbank
December 9, 200322 yr Yeah at least you don't have to deal with the English & Aussie folks with "Randy" lol.............................[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/betaimg.jpg Randy J Smith
December 9, 200322 yr Well think about it:You have to be a RETARD to fly an Airbus......push a total of 5 or so buttons then sit back and relax with your coffee until clearing the active at the other end...(Thank Goodness that SouthWest airlines doesn't fly any Airbusses.....just imagine what these guys would be doing with all that free time). The Airbus is pi@@ed off at the fact that the pilot has to actually put the throttle at the Idle gate. Hence the term "Retard". The airplane is actually looking forward to the day when it doesn't have to rely on these "retarded" humans for anything. On the other hand, you need a good sized pair of "cajones" / "bazookas" (for ladies) to fly a 727, 737, DC9x, MD8x, ERJ, CRJ, 747, 757, 767, 777, with the size of the cajones/bazookas decreasing down the order. Small wonder therefore that only the Airbus company (in France, I might add...ironic isn't it?:-) ) see's it fit to call their pilots "retards". ;)
December 9, 200322 yr Hi,I saw your name and it kinda amused me here in the 737 forum. I like that kind of humor :)Just stick with it as far as I'm concerned. December 9, 200322 yr boeing is trying to get up to standard with it's automatisation, the lack of it is a pure incapability of the designers... sigh...
December 9, 200322 yr Hey Anthony, I think your post blew "political correctness" right out the window, lol. ;)Jeff
December 9, 200322 yr >ok i probably didn't choose the best name but i have a sister>with cerebral paulsy paul so i can assure you that it was'nt>intended in the way that some seemed to take it! it's kind of>a shame that people automatically think you're having a go.>>lol anyway i guess i'll change it.>>good news on the ryanair repaint by the way!>>come on SU2 that will be a week tomorrow the notice went>up!!!!>>callum.Well, I am going to weigh in here. I just want to let you know that I don't see any relation to Callum using the name retard and his sister's cerebral paulsy. My father has CP - I do not consider him retarded. In fact, he is one of the coolest guys I know. It's amazing what kind of person you can turn out to be when you aren't considered "normal" by others and rise above that...and the proof is in my dad.Keep the name...I thought it was funny!
December 9, 200322 yr I never thought anything of it when I saw it; I immediately thought of an LH A340 Landing...don't know why hehehee http://www.jet-precision.com/Uploads/MM-JPS.jpg
December 9, 200322 yr That's why I quit flying an Airbus. I just couldn't take any more verbal abuse :-) .Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. December 9, 200322 yr Am I wrong?: Isn't he referencing the voice callout on the Airbus A-series when landing on autothrust? Keith Whyte
