December 24, 200322 yr Finally got the update and seems to be pretty nice with the VERY little time I have been able to fly it. The very first thing I checked and the one thing I was hoping would get "fixed" was the multi monitor stuff. Alas it still doesn't work. All my other favorite FS2K2 planes corrected the issue with their updates. (Ready for Pushback 747, MAAM B25 and Bill G's ERJ 145 to name a few) Undocking the overhead panel (or any panel for that matter)causes the main panel to black out. Any plans to fix this?? I hate pop up windows and only fly with multi monitors (4 of them).... in order to keep the main panel clear. By the way, is that a "trend" vector target I now see on the ADI?? Cool... Don't think I have seen that feature anywhere but in US fighters... Is that real world for the NG?? Mike B. Happy Holidays to All
December 24, 200322 yr You are not alone for the multimonitor support. We can see what other goodies the 800-900 has in store ;) Of course everything you see on the PFD is modelled after a real NG ;) [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/betaimg.jpg Randy J Smith
December 24, 200322 yr Mike; Here's a workaround for operating the overhead panel without losing the forward view. With the 2D cockpit fwd view selected, press SHIFT-7. You will see parts of the the overhead panel behind the 2D fwd view. Now right click on any visible part of the o/h panel, and select undock. You can then move the o/h panel to another monitor on your multimonitor setup. Once you have it position, you can use SHF-7 to close it and bring it up in the same spot each time. In fact, if you save the situation with it placed like that, the o/h will appear in the same place after loading the saved flight. Just don't use the PMDG panel switcher for this particular window. Use SHF-7 instead. I have a yoke button programmed to do this through FSUIPC, as I also put things like wx radar, multiplayer chat box, and my approach plates up on the upper-right monitor in my 4-monitor setup here.Merry Christmas and 73Bob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, D.C. December 25, 200322 yr Author Hey Bob: Ok, thanks for the heads up, I'll give that a try. Once you get used to having multi monitors it's hard to go back to pop up windows and they ALWAYS need to be poped up at the worst possible time like short final when ATC needs and answer!! hi hi... By the way, your call sounds very familiar. I just moved here from Orange COunty California where my call sign was W6FFC and K7FQ and WA6URR in three other lives... hi hi.. 73 - de W4FEJ (great CW call) Mike
December 25, 200322 yr (edit) thought I wasn't having a problem with this but I only run 2 monitors, not 4, so I probably wouldn't see this effect. Patrick
December 26, 200322 yr Author I have the problem also with only 2 monitors. The multi stuff changed with FS9 and not every developer has figured it out yet, some have, some haven't. See above post for a work around.. Looking forward to this weekend so I can try the new ADI out on ILS approaches in 3/4 mile vis final... lol Mike B.
