Using the keyboard to type data into FMS

Featured Replies

I'm not too sure if it's PMDG or 767PIC, but along time ago, I managed to input data into the FMS using the keyboard. Is this possible with the PMDG 737 FMS?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/67960.jpghttp://www.onlinesimulationsolutions.com/Athlon 64 3000, 19dba Zalman CPU fan, MSI K8T-NEO, 1GB PC3200 DDR400, HIS Excalibur 9800 Pro 128mb, 60GB HD.Trainee Airline Pilot (Completing PPL, ATPL this year).

Yes, keyboard assist is accessed by clicking on the thin black strip on the outer edges of the FMC keypad. If you double check it is in the docs somewhere.Chuck CYXU

You just beat me to it Chuck :)David

One thing I`ve found is that keys that I have mapped to functions in FSUIPC won`t work when using the kbd in FMC. For instance, I have mapped S to toggle strobes, L to toggle landing lights and T to toggle taxi lights. Don`t want to go to overhead when I need them, as I mostly toggle them while the ship is moving.Anyone else experiencing this? Rgds,Kjell.

Hi KjellI think all keyboard key strokes are directed to the CDU while in KBD mode. This was how the KBD mode worked in the DF734 and the PIC767 as well. No FS or other key assignment will work while you are in KBD mode.Hope it helps,

Check your active camera key assignments. I bet 'x' is defined in there somewhere. Redefine it to something else.
