A framerate friendly panel?

Featured Replies

I heard somewhere that there is a Framerate PMDG panel for the 737-600/700...is this true...if so were at?

A far as I know there isin't a 3rd party framerate friendly panel for the pmdg 737. Isin't the pmdg panel framerate friendly as it is? :-hmmmAndrew

i didn't no...my computer seems to slug with it in...it is very notchy

I found that if you turn off as many 'not-needed' background programs before starting FS9/PMDG etc, everything speeds up and runs very smoothly. The panel is very frame-rate friendly already.....Toni.

Do a search in Avsim file library for "FSAUTOSTART", it shuts down uneeded services and allows for better utilization of your machines resourses. When you configure it make shure you "shutdown/resart". That way your machine will return to it's original state.Regards

Right, unless your system is already borderline, the PMDG won't affect it much. You can increase FP significantly by using a frame rate limiter, and down-tuning scenery distance if you must, which will have a much higher impact of frames than PMDG.Hope this helps,

And another thing, it's not the *panel* that slows you down FPS wise, it's the DISPLAYS. Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. Yes, you read correctly, there is.....................Its available here. http://www.sky-decks.com/sd-html_004.htmThen check the downloads section for the conversion zip file.Dave.If it burns Kerosene and makes a noise, I'm interested.

I don't see any 'conversion' zip file...?? It just looks to be a different NG style panel designed for the FFX 737 (judging by the add-on livery pack available). This panel doesn't appear to have a FMC of any description, it merely merges the FS standarf GPS display into the ND to look more realistic than a seperate pop-up GPS unit! This would more than likely be a downgrade from the PMDG panel, which is not a severe hitter on the FPS anyway....in my experience!

If you are having frame probs, use the 2d panel only and use "FSAutostart", knock the sliders back a bit, esp. traffic + dynamic scenery. Also fit replacement cloud textures. There are many guidelines on the PMDG front page about this, as well as lots of good info here in this forum. If you can get 18+ fps, you are winning.

Its the FMC that causes the frame-rate hit. I merely answered your question. This panel is probably the best alternative. Its shareware so you have nothing to lose by downloading and trying it.Once you have done that you will see in the documentation how to alias into the 'PMDG' panel.Dave.ASUS KT333 M/Board, Radeon9800Pro128mb, 1024DDR, ATI xp2400+CPU, 80 gb HDD

>Its the FMC that causes the frame-rate hit. It's actually the vector gauges and all the calculations being done to display them like computing the magenta tracks, curves etc... The FMC's in the real planes though run on CPU's that are so slow you wouldn't believe it.
