Wow, what a complete package. A+ for value. When can I expect a small business jet? Gulfstream 5 or Learjet 45 in the makings? I'd love to see a smaller technical marvel like these done in this amount of detain. I can't wait to see the 747.Here is a list of what I have been able to find so far that could be improved upon:1) Not the product as much as the forum, get rid of all the less than relavent sticky topics. Anyone first coming to the forums (least I did) thinks they are very inactive when all they see is a first page with nothing but posts from May back.2) FMC doesn't reset when all power sources have been taken away, not sure if this is for realism or not, but it's kind of annoying to not be able to completely reset the FMC without reloading the aircraft.3) Time compression and FMC navigation do not play well together. Try flying a flightplan with 64x time compression. :)4) Ability to save/load flights with everything down to the last switch saved, not sure if this is possible with MSFS limitations.5) Control surfaces appear to function without any hydraulic pumps or even power on.6) Would it be possible to move the FMC/AP/AT alerter lights so they are visible on the zoomed panel?More to come if I find anything :)

7) Either a cargo conversion variant of the jets (possible loading ramp instead of rear door?) or a version of the aircraft configuration loader that allows you to specify cargo instead of passengers.8) Faster scrolling dials on the MCP, not something like the default MSFS attempt where you end up spending more time going from -10 to +10 and back because of the damn auto-step features. There's one more I forgot to write down... I'll think of it soon!

>2) FMC doesn't reset when all power sources have been taken>away, not sure if this is for realism or not, but it's kind of>annoying to not be able to completely reset the FMC without>reloading the aircraft.Do this by going back to the first page of the "RTE" page and re enter your departure and arrival airports. This will clear all route info, but will NOT erase weight settings. Should be in the manual somewhere.. ;-)>3) Time compression and FMC navigation do not play well>together. Try flying a flightplan with 64x time compression.>:)I don't fly flights much past 2x, so I cannot comment.:-)

100) I want a stew to come and serve me coffee!Alright, just pokin fun. On a serious note, some of those, like the flap thing, have been noted and I believe (as per the announcement that is pinned) are slated to be fixed for the interm release.

11) If you descend below a callout you won't receive that callout again. Ex, descend through an approach and then execute a missed approach, on your next try you won't hear any altitude callouts.

Nameless-Ah... another "New Guy" strolls into the crew lounge to tell us old timers how we can run the place more effectively... I was like that once... :-)>Here is a list of what I have been able to find so far that>could be improved upon:>1) Not the product as much as the forum, get rid of all the>less than relavent sticky topics. Anyone first coming to the>forums (least I did) thinks they are very inactive when all>they see is a first page with nothing but posts from May>back.Well.... These pinned topics are there for a reason... Perhaps you should take a quick spin through them and see what they contain... Let's just pick an example at random:The post about forum guidelines makes it clear that we want ALL POSTERS to sign their real names to their posts... But you didn't read that one... And didn't sign your post.....So.... Please read the "Forum Guidelines" post- and follow those guidelines for me?!>2) FMC doesn't reset when all power sources have been taken>away, not sure if this is for realism or not, but it's kind of>annoying to not be able to completely reset the FMC without>reloading the aircraft.Already noted and discussed in a previous thread..>3) Time compression and FMC navigation do not play well>together. I'm not certain that we'll retrofit at his stage- but I'll be sure we at least discuss/consider it....>More to come if I find anything :)Uh huh. Read that manual too! :-)Seriously- welcome to the forum... There are 50,000+ posts of useful information here. Sometimes a good seach is in order before posting.... (heck- even I need to search them on occasion!)

I am more than pleased to be able to fly a virtual 73 for just a few quid(dollars). If I needed more, I would have to go and spend $90,000,000 on the real thing!Just one thing though, An animated co-pilot and some passengers chatting away would probably add some extra ambience.

The GPWS altitude callout doesn't resent until you get back over 3500', same way on the real a/c as I understand it.

HiWhy not have an attempt at enjoying this marvel instead of trying to find faults from day 1.As for 64x! try contacting NASA, they may be helpful in getting you from A to B as quick as you appear to need.A happy and contented PMDG pilot.Bob Wright

>>>>Why not have an attempt at enjoying this marvel instead of trying to find faults from day 1<<<

>You must remember that the reason why the PMDG NG series has>so much functionality today is because a lot of people "found>faults" over the months after release. Those weren't>necessairly "faults", just SUGGESTIONS that were implemented>by PMDG. >>Personally, if PMDG can find the time to put in even more>functionality into the NG, you will benefit, I will benefit>and everyone else will benefit.I undersign all your words complitely! That's my point when i had something about PMDG and was shooted down :(>Try making a suggestion or asking for a function over at PSS>or FeelThere or most of the other developers for that matter.>The answer? Nothing new will be added. Point blank. The others>don't even bother to say that. They just ignore you>completely.Mhhh that wasn't my experience, maybe i should repost all my ideas :D

>> "Try right clicking on the dials."woot, nifty.>> "I don't fly flights much past 2x, so I cannot comment."Yah, I don't expect to either, was running through one of the tutorial flights and was trying to make a 200nm leg go by faster. When it got time to turn the AP turnrate was normal but speed was 64x faster, was like watching an old lady trying to drive.>> "The GPWS altitude callout doesn't resent until you get back over >> 3500', same way on the real a/c as I understand it."Ah, didn't realize that. >> "Ah... another "New Guy" strolls into the crew lounge to tell us >> old timers how we can run the place more effectively... "Excuse me for voicing my opinion. What was I thinking, voicing my ideas and thoughts on a public forum, I have some nerve. I should have read the "GO AWAY, ONLY US OLD TIMERS ARE ALLOWED TO POST HERE!" message on the door.>> "Well.... These pinned topics are there for a reason... But you didn't >> read that one... And didn't sign your post.....>> So.... Please read the "Forum Guidelines" post- and follow those >> guidelines for me?!"Again excuse me for not wishing to read through the annals of the forum before making my post. I wasn't aware it was required for me to ready 10,000 posts before I was allowed to make a statement. Perhaps I have read your post wrong however, for being what appears to be an active member of the PR for PrecisionManuals you're a rather smug and pretentious individual. >> "Why not have an attempt at enjoying this marvel instead of trying >> to find faults from day 1."Why not have an attempt at rereading my post, first 2 sentances: "Wow, what a complete package. A+ for value." If people didn't find faults in things we would still be sitting in MSFS version 1 playing with our untextured polygons.I'm glad to see I'm not alone and the last two posters were as naive as I was for thinking this would be a welcome place to voice one's opinions on the product they just purchased. I've been using it for a week by the way. Gotta love the P2P networks, oh and I love the PMDG message on there. I believe in try before you buy; and I bought so that must be something like a compliment.Lead Zero(btw, normally I have no problem posting personal information. Who knows, maybe if I was met with a little less cynicism I would have complied.)Edit: LOL, looks like you need to reread your own guidelines there Robert, you broke two of your own rules:5) Users should refrain from engaging in behavior that might be seen as antagonistic toward other individuals in the forum.6) You are welcome to offer *your* opinion freely! While we certainly enjoy hearing that our customers enjoy the user of our products- we do not discourage postings that bring our attention to deficiencies or problems. Just remember to be courteous and we will do our best to help you!

Good morning Mr Zero,And welcome to the forum.I've read the thread you started and have some advice for you. Please take this as advice only. Not trying to put you down or anything.- Becoming a member of a new forum it is adviced you look around thouroughly. I remember hanging around for weeks if not months before posting my first thread.- Familiarize yourself with the general attitudes and behaviour. - Read any pinned topics. There's a reason the moderators pin certain topics. - Search the previous posts for answers to questions you have. And learn how to use the search tool using the advanced options. Remember "Search is your friend". Chances are your questions has already been answered at least twice! ;-) After all we've been discussing the NG since long before it was released in June/July last year.- Always read posts with some distance. It's always difficult to communicate feelings over written text and sometimes even the smileys fail to do this properly.- If you feel offended by something that someone wrote. Try to re-read the post and see if you can read something else in it, find another angle of attack to it. Maybe the writer put some smileys there? Maybe he's not using his native tounge? There could be a hundred reasons that you won't or can't see.- Stay cool, calm and collective! ;-)Having said this I'm sure you see that most of your questions had been brought up on the table before. Also the answers to your initial post is not at all as cynical as you think/see/feel. From an outsider's point of view I could only find one short reply that would be out of the line. But then again that's just me.Ok. Have a good time here. And please sign with your name in your following posts. Otherwise your posts will surely be removed by the mods.Cheers,Edited for spelling

We are getting snippy this morning. I find that the PMDG aircraft is wonderful even though there are a few minor flaws. Those flaws do not hurt the experience. I only wish I could master some of the FMC problems I have. None that keep me from flying but some work arounds like getting rid of a waypoint that I am on.That said, I believe the support and this forum is a good as it gets in the flightsim world. They will get more of my dollars when they have another a/c I want to fly (747/777).John Noe
