July 17, 200421 yr well i have been doing some experimenting just before and i decided to take the PMDG 737 600 with NO VC for a flight and i noticed that there is a huge differencethis ac is so much smoother than the 900 so it begs the q, is it the VC of the 900 or the 900 plane itself,it looks like i am unfortunately stuck with 2D and flying the 600/700 only. July 17, 200421 yr Well Clayton that certainly has been no secret. Virtual cockpits require much more power to run that a 2D panel. I personally was forced to make an upgrade simply because my computer burned up so it workded out good for me and I was running about what you are currently. Big difference but like most things, if you want things to work good you need to tweak your current setup or upgrade and enjoy what more money spent offers...Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. July 17, 200421 yr Author this plane is too good to be left in the hangari will fly 2D till my next major upgrade perhaps when fs2006 comes out. I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
July 17, 200421 yr Clayton,an easy, painless and cheap upgrade would be for you to add another 512 of memory. You'd be surprised at the difference it can make.Cheers,Tony
July 17, 200421 yr dont waste your money on an upgrade...I still get bad FPS in VC....just a tradeoff I guess.Gary HayesNo im not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.P4 3.0ghz w/HT & FSB..GeForce FX 5900 ultra 256MB..1 gig PC3200 DDR RAM..Sound Blaster Audigy w/5.1 THX Gary Hayes My Youtube No i'm not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
July 17, 200421 yr With the rig you're running, Gary, I'm surprised you're complaining. Maybe you need to dig deeper and find out what's wrong because hardware-wise there aren't many who can come close to the stuff you have and they seem to have no stutter problems. My suggestion to Clayton was along the lines of: All things being equal, a Gig of memory can only help.Something else is slowing you down and I think it's worth you spending some time finding what and why and fine-tuning your system.Just my 2 cents' worth :)Tony
July 17, 200421 yr Commercial Member Clayton, You are operating the 600VC and you have the 800/900 Upgrade installed. As you may know, we have a model patch for owners of the 800/900 Upgrade that updates the 600 and 700 models. Included with these updates is a new VC for the 600 and 700 that should give you some improvement in performance. This "model" patch is in final beta testing right now, and should be available soon.Best,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
