July 23, 200421 yr After a couple of hours practicing flying I have noticed sound problems that seem to be related to the 2D views. There is a hiss and sometimes I hear a quiet sound like radio static. When viewing from side views these weird sound problems do not exist; so only when using the 2D forward panels does it show up. Whenever I use the Approach view the sound problems temporarily cease and all gauges work. So I am guessing the forward main view is the culprit. Along with the sound issues is a problem with the gauges not moving and the joystick not working. By flipping from the forward view to the Approach view and back, all is ok again. Weird! I am wondering if sound files are not turning off and on correctly; like maybe two or more trying to run at the same time. These problems were experienced while at cruse in both the 2D and VC versions. This is the only FS2004 add-on with problems. My A320 Pro add-on runs perfectly.Has anyone experienced these problems? Help, help anyone! In my humble opinion this add-on needs to have some fixes.Unless I can get these problems solved this add-on is useless! My sound card drivers are current.
July 23, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi Waldo,It sounds more like you should be disappointed with your sound drivers. Try updating them.Best,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
July 23, 200421 yr Never experienced your problem. Too bad you are disappointed because it is truelly the best addon available!
July 23, 200421 yr Waldo,Exactly as Vin said...... update your sound card drivers.BTW, you must be new to asking for support from a developer. You will go a long way if you don't put so much 'Venom' in the subject line for what may turn out to be a problem with YOUR system.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
July 23, 200421 yr Check out the manual, then try the styles menu and set up your sounds there. The avionics sound is realistic as well as the "hissing" sound which you get when the one of the switches on the AC panel is on (can't remember which). You can also increase or decrease the volume. I generally set mine halfway. You can also set it so that it plays in all views or as you have it now, only in 2D main view.
July 23, 200421 yr Author Anthony,Thanks much I found what I have been looking for and I will now get back into the seat and test the sound issues, etc.Waldo
