modeling of random engine deviations

Featured Replies

hi,would it be possible to model slight deviations of certain engine parameters like in real aircraft?for example, the N1 values of the left/right engine are often not equal in reality. N1 on the left engine might be 88.3% and N1 on the right engine might be 88.6% at the same time. same with other values like EGT (i.e. 451

>would it be possible to model slight deviations of certain>engine parameters like in real aircraft?I think this is a *great* idea- even if it was kludged (i.e. actual thrust, fuel burn and other parameters were unaffected), perhaps the gauge could be programmed simply to display minor variations. For example, N1 could display under logic like if 20 < actual N1 < 40, display N1 +- 5; if 41 < N1 < 70, display N1 +- 2.5; if N1 > 70, display N1 +- 1, etc. This example assumes N1 is more symmetrical at higher thrust settings, but I might be assuming wrong.I've noticed for a while that hydraulic quantities are often not quite equal- I assumed that was intentional and always appreciated the realism of that.-Simon Binder

Yes that would be very cool..PSS A340 has it kludged but the engine display refresh rate is very slow and varitaons between no1 and no4 eng. can go up to %3 percent, so it's confusing. My PIC767 shows diffrent N1s time to time, I don't think it's a bug, I think it's modelled good but not working everytime.

I been on a flightdeck for a few times now and indeed the gauges never or almost never are the same.

indeed. That's because every engine is a unique engine, having had it's own wear and tear, maintainance etc etc... thus yield slightly different numbers.Though if the numbers are more than 2% different, report this to your maintainance service as that ain't too healthy anymore...grtz

Here here!!A little +/- 2% variation will add a MASSIVE amount of realism to the engine data. Currently the PMDG plane is let down by unrealistic, identical engine data. This will seem even more apparent with the 747, and i do hope it is not the case. I did notice that the PSS 330/340 have varying engine data which makes the experience that much more realistic. If it is not too much trouble Mr Randazzo please add the functionality, or at least acknowledge that it is a "customer would like request" on both the 737 and 747 series.Best regardsArmen L Cholakianwww.veryquiet.com

thanks for your "support", i hope that someone from PMDG has read this thread. would be great if the random deviations could be added.

Vin thank you very much for response, we'll wait for it :)

wow, that's what i'd call "keep the customer satisfied" :-)would be great if you could put it in! it would be as real as in the DVDs ;-)
