August 13, 200421 yr Something that was thrown around during beta testing was that the NG could "possibly" autoland (including Flare) under command of one AUTOPILOT. I don't suggest trying this real world ;) as your company's insurance won't cover it.Maybe Brad can comment, as it has been done in the sim.
August 13, 200421 yr Ross et allJust to contribute further, the Airfield needs to be CAT III in order to operate at CAT III minima but it doesn't need to be CAT III in order to autoland. The system will quite happily autoland on a CAT I only ILS although it is something that you really wouldn't want to do in real life as the company would probably sack you. Kris
August 14, 200421 yr Thanks Kris,So what is the difference between CAT I, II et III?I thought it was the capabilities of the ILS as well as the aircraft.Ross Ross Marsh Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.2GHz 4GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX580 Windows Vista Home Premium 64x
