Tim... how's that new tutorial coming along?

Featured Replies

I have been anxiously awaiting it as I am sure many others have. You did such a GREAT job with the last one, that I can't wait to see what you have added.Thank you so very much for shareing your time, effort and expertice. I would have never been able to learn as much on my own, as your tutorial has taught me. I truly appreciate your work... excellent Sir!

Amen to that! You took the words right out of my mouth!

I sure am looking forward to it, almost as much as the PMDG747 ... ;-)

I am not absolutely positive, but I believe Tim had it removed in preparation for the new release. Hense the title of this thread. You WILL want the newest version. Tim is a true professional and it will be worth the wait I assure you. Not too long of a wait I hope! :D

Look like Tim fell off the radar.

Na! He's probably out earning a living flying in a real plane. Oh... thanks for responding... so I can respond... and move this back to the top... and still keep my promise! :D

Just to clarify, Mr. Metzinger's tutorial was not removed from avsim "in preparation" for the new one. There were copyright concerns raised due to the use of Jeppeson (sp?) charts. We wouldn't want Tim to be sued, no would we?Signed: a sometimes humble beta-tester of Tim's last version.

What ever gets it bumped up!?!

Tim has actually replied to other posts during these past few days...I don't think it's much use bumping this up all the time...Yeah, I know, this is yet another bump...catch22! Best,Martijn

Gentlemen,All this crawling is unbecoming! Just kidding, of course, but don't forget Tim's tutorial is donationware, so large(or even moderate) contributions may help him find more time to finish. :-)Frank

Frank, I'll "match" your donation... how much?

Home renovations are still underway (NOT funded by any donations, believe me).I hope to get cracking on v3 soon, and will release it with NACO charts. It's going to be a similar format as last time, with some time at a training field and then longer routes, this time based on some real-life routes from Southwest Airlines.I'll be frank, folks - a project like this takes hundreds of hours of time, of which I'm in sort of short supply, so I'm looking at ways to make that time pay back to my family for the time I've taken away.Version 3 is going to be payware, but it will also be cheap payware - we're talking single digits in US dollars. I'm going to be exploring online flight sim retailers for publishing/sales work assuming they won't want to keep all the money.I'd be interested in feedback about any retailers you've either loved working with or hated. Thanks for your patience.-Tim
