Monitor Question

Featured Replies

I am using a '14 monitor running on a resolution of 1024x768 so you could imagine how difficult anything may be while using FS with the NG panel. I am looking to upgrade. Does anyone have anysuggestions for a bigger monitor that is not too expensive (including company, make, size, price, etc.) that you know of?Thanks! Brandon Glass

Hi there,I bought an AG Neovo F-17c recently, I run FS2004 at 1280x1024. Its a 17 inch TFT flat panel with an 11ms response time, so its ideal for flight simulator. You don't get any of the bluriness that affects some tft monitors because of the fast response time. I got it from ebuyer, they sell to both the UK and US. Here's the link: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/in...oduct_uid=62807Maybe worth a look.

Hi Brandon,I'm running with two 19" Dell P991 Trinitron monitors. Awesome if you have the space on your desktop. They require quite a deep desk. I bought the second one second-hand for about

Well I just bought this baby (NEC Multisync 1980SXi 19") and even though it's RAPID RESPONCE technology states 25 MS, my America's Army, Flight Simulator and DVDS show NO ARTIFACTS or ghosting. Simply stunning panel. A bit pricey at over 800 US but well worth it..http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/94077.jpghttp://www.necmitsubishi.com/products/ProductDetail.cfm?Product=352&ClassificationFamily=1&Classification=1Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. I run an old IBM P260b 21" monitor and these are the best. It comes with a Trinitron flat tube.I suggest you go for a large flat screen Dell or IBM both of which have models using the Trinitron tube which is one of the best i've used. And I'd go for a CRT over TFT anytime, especially because of "what you get for the price you pay" ;)

Are those twin 19" LCDs Lefteris? Nice MCP buddy ;-) Oh forgot, I can see something on those panels lol... Terence,It's true that CRTs are simply better for Games and such and cheaper BUT IMO a large high quality LCD is a joy to behold ;-) and I cannot see any differnce in quality of game playing...Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. a large high quality LCD is a joy to beholdRight on the money, Randy. My 15.4" on my new Dell notebook (specs below) is indeed a joy (not to mention useful for those annoying things such as work!!!)Regards/Chardy

Oh yeah those new gamer edition Dell notbooks kick some major butt! Maybe after I pay off this monitor from them that will be next ;-)Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. >> Oh yeah those new gamer edition Dell notbooks kick some major>butt! Randy-dude - here in OZ the 9100 is actually their top model - more for power business and graphics users - but it's such a shame I own the company and we just had to buy two - one for the wife, one for me!!!Truly, they do rock, and for those who are interested, the cards in these EASILY drive the main 15.4" at 1900x1200 at 32M, AND an external 17" at 1280x1024...hooked one up the other day.Off to buy an external monitor...

I second that, flat 21" CRT Trinitron are the best to deliver quality, speed and true colours if you are not limited by your dektop space. Out of curiosity, I am also trying a projector to have a screen size identical to the real life panel, but I have concerns about the image burning problem caused by still images used too often, I have yet to figure the safe timing to avoid this.
