PMDG and Airbus?

Featured Replies

Hi,Do you guys think PMDG will ever develop say an A340 or any Airbus plane? Thanks,Matt Stevens

Not likely in the near future. They're busy until mid next year with no airbus predicted yet. But you never know.Goran

I would absolutely love a PMDG A318/19/20/21, if fly-by-wire were modelled. Something like the A320PIC. (The A320PIC was a great idea, but the Wilco vs. Anticyclone drama killed it.)

I believe I've heard the PMDG devs indicate that Airbus isn't as forthcoming with in depth information on the aircraft's systems making it more difficult to sim properly.

As I staed in another thread:I think PMDG have left (and will leave) their fingers from doing an Airbus for this good reason: within MSFS it is just not possible to simulate an Airbus correctly. The MSFS engine favours simulation of airplanes which follow the BOeING kind of flight philosophy. Thus an Airbus within MSFS (at least up to version FS9) will never be fully satisfying. Also PSS stated, that the A330/A340 was the last Bus they did for MSFS.Wolfgang

Wolfgang, I think it's possible to simulate airbus fly by wire correctly within MSFS. Just try 737NG Autopilot CWS mode and you'll understand, it's very succesfull.

The last time someone braoched this subject, I specifically recall Robert saying something to the effect of never say never and then made refrence to IA is sending him for training on the Airbus for IA. Now, I would take that as the door may be shut for now on an Airbus but its a balsa wood door and not a 6" steel vault door.
