Answer about Virtual Dispatcher

Featured Replies

Don, Rob, Frank, Keith et alAs some of you have noticed my screen shots in another thread and asking me where to find this Virtual Dispatch program. Here's the answer! My goal for this project is to provide something for virtual pilots that will enhance their knowledge of what is going on before the crew gets their flight documents and enter the flight deck. It is based on real-world dispatch software programs layouts and data and I try to use as much real-world aircraft data as I can get my hands on.The software will include: - accurate fuel planning- weight and balance planning- route distances and average wind corrections- accurate take-off weight calculations- flight level calculations- landing weight calculations- flight plan import, currently supporting PMDG file format and FS file format- printable dispatch sheets with a 'real-world' look- linking to user's own airports charts and documents for easy access of real world data.- internet access to real-world weather, METARs, TAFs and winds aloftMany of these above features are not supported or has flaws in FS but I will include them anyway as they are an important part of flight dispatch IRL. Examples of the above is the lack of runway slope in FS, though it greatly influences the limiting weight for take-offs, the center of gravity in FS9 has several shortcomings and bugs but it is also a crucial component of RL flight planning. It is not yet available. And it will be some time before it will be. This is a software I'm programming and developing as we speak. I am currently working on the load and balance sections of it. The progress is acffected by the fact that this is done in my spare time and I have to support my family as well. At least give them something every other week. ;-)I have so far probably spent more than five hundred hours on developing and will probably need another five hundred before it is finished. I do however come up with plans and ideas for the forthcoming versions so this is a project that most likely will continue to grow.Taking all of the above in account means that I am planning of releasing this piece of software as shareware or possibly donationware. I will make sure it will be worth the expence though.I will in due time set up a web site for the Virtual Dispatcher but for now I will stick to including shameless plugs in innocent posts as the above screenshot. ;-)Thanks for your interest,

Hi Mats, sound REALLY promising and exciting !Let me know if I can provide you some assistance (I'm an aeronautical engineer).Best regards

Thanks guys,Some of you might remember a fuel planner I was fiddeling with earlier last fall. I have since then moved to another country and have now finally settled down a bit. This is the continuation of that fuel planner project.Ramon; my plan is to make this as open as possible. To begin with there will be support for the NG and also the 744. My goal is to provide a dispatch utility that's pretty much general. Whether the aircraft is from PMDG, LDS, Aerowinx or any other high quality provider.Franken; the screenshot mentioned was in another thread. My mistake. Here it is again:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/96537.jpgTo everybody who offered help; I will reply to you privately. But most of all THANK YOU!! :-) Really appreciated!TGIF, :-beerchug

Odd you should bump this! I was just thinking about this the other day and tried searching the forum for it but could not remember the name!! Gents,How nice to see this post bumped up from the bottom of the chest! :-)The Virtual Dispatcher is very much in my mind. Almost every day to be more precise. Due to recent events over the last 6-8 months not much have been accomplished work-wise though. :-(My plans are definitely to finish this project but obviously I can't say at what pace.I have registered a domain, www.vdispatch.ca and will eventually start putting up information on it. As of now it is just resting. ;-)(A good web designer out there? Anyone... Class...)As the screen shot links are all expired I thought I'd include a new shot here.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/135540.jpgThanks,
