New 737NG sound package in the library

Featured Replies

Ramon, imo there is no BEST soundset. There are a number of free soundsets you can dowload and why don't you try them out and figure out which one you like the most. Sound is such a subjective thing that what I find good you might think is bad.

Whoa! Now that`s what i call 737 SOUND! Been missing the characteristic whoooom sound since the day she was released.... Excellent topic guys!RgdsKevin

There is certainly a difference but, to my jadded ears, no improvement over the original. Still doesn't measure up to my experience in a real 737 or that from DVDs of 737 flights. For me the search for something better than the original soundset goes on.Bruce

I tried these as well and switched back to the default sound. What I did though was keep the 'wind' file from the newly released package. The newer wind file with the default PMDG sounds is great IMO.....Eric

I downloaded this sound set, but the files are too large, IMO. I don't know if I can compress them, but I shouldn't have to.There's only a couple of sounds I wish were better, and those are the ground roll, engine whine, and perhaps some rumble from the engines as well. Just a little more noise and wind. The problem is, I like the ground roll from PMDG, except it doesn't have the rattle sounds you hear. This sound set doesn't have enough tire roll with the rattle. Also, how do you know what sounds to rename to what? The PMDG sounds have a different name for their wavs. The engine sounds would have to be renamed properly or the sounds would be off.Another thing about these sound besides the compression. Why did they include an overspeed that sounds like a McDonnell Douglas one? And why a stall horn that sounds like the overspeed PMDG included. I tend to think the overspeed from PMDG is the right sound. The AP disconnect is wrong too. PMDGs is much more like the real thing.

yea... you gotta mix and match to get the best. Search for "ground roll" in the library and you'll also get some alternative set for ground roll sounds. They're much better.

I tried the sound. It's the best 737 engine sound I have heard so far. Combined with the cockpit sounds of PMDG, it makes a great PMDG 737 experience. The only sound that PMDG did better are the taxi engine sounds.Dirk
