November 11, 200421 yr Okay, judge for yourself. Here are samples from the sim:T/O http://www.iseeinyouthesamefearthatwouldta...com/737/t-o.mp3LND http://www.iseeinyouthesamefearthatwouldta...com/737/lnd.mp3Note: this is with my own ground roll sound mod, dampened GPWS call outs and default flaps sound. 39% engine 80% environment. My main gripe is with the very weak ground roll and trust reversers.
November 11, 200421 yr Preston, forgive the question if you feel this is out of line but, do you have any experience in the cockpit of the 737NG during taxi and when the reversere are used? Is your expectations based on what you hear in the cabin or upfront? Just curious. http://www.precision...GX_Dev_Team.jpg PMDG Graphic Designer
November 11, 200421 yr OK-not Boeing, but none-the-less, a really good video clip of the A-Bus showing the pilots and passengers eating, various shots in different places inside the aircraf, which demonstrates how the engines sound different, depending on where you are in the a/c and at different phases of flight.http://www.fsfreeware.com/2004/october/a330cairoldg-m.zip
November 11, 200421 yr I haven't try it in the sim yet but sampled some individual sounds. It could be an improvement. Any opinions?
November 11, 200421 yr Tested this soundset... and I really like it!!:-) Feels really realistic... Best regards, Fritz ESSONO
November 11, 200421 yr I tried it and despite its 50 megs it is no improvement - gone back to the original.Bruce Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
November 11, 200421 yr No improvement? Not to be harsh or anything but if you cannot hear any diffrence then you must have bad hearing or something....CheersJohan "Whats VNAV?!?!" Adolfsson
November 11, 200421 yr Johan,Remember sound is subjective. And Bruce didn't say "no difference" he just stated "no improvement"Cheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
November 11, 200421 yr The sample sounds very good. I like the whine, which is not in the original sound. Ok, the original PMDG sound may be better theoretically, but this alternative is just better music to my ears.Goos job.Dirk
November 12, 200421 yr Tried it and I like the sounds. Especially the external sounds. I always found the PMDG external sounds a bit over done ;-) .I did have to edit some figures in the sound.cfg and move some other .wav files into the mix but it works for me. My only complaint is the file sizes. The author should learn how to use a compression codec. I recompressed all of the files and ended up with 10.3 megs instead of the 50+ megs. The compressed wav files do not sound any different than the default PCM 44.1 16 bit files in the package.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
November 12, 200421 yr Hi Dirk,If you search for '737' in the File Library / Flight Simulator 2004 Sound Files you should find it there.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
