I've had a weird thing happening lately. When in flight, autopilot (FMC or manual AP both) goes into a 15000f/min dive. I uninstalled PMDG and reinstalled....same. Reinstalled FS9....same. Removed just about every third party software I can think of and still the same. This happens every time I fly...anyone have any suggestions or same experiences?? Any feedback would be great. Rob

Hello Rob, I have not heard of something like this in quite a while. Are you using some add-on weather program? Give us more details about what exactly your are running and what version of the NG you have along with the FS version.Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. I'm using the 737-60/700 version 1.3. After you mentioned the weather program, I hadn't tried removing ActiveSky due to the fact that it hasn't caused any problems up until now. I did a quick flight last night with out it and all seemed to work well (FMC and Manual) I'll do some more playing with it today and give you an update. Thanks so much for the help. Rob

Thanks Matts, I tried the same flight with only FS9 weather and exactly the same thing happened. I did take a screen shot of the 2D panel but nothing really out of the ordinary. I did clear all data on FMC and flew autopilot with manual settings and it did the same as mentioned in the original thread. I removed ActiveSky from my machine. One thing I did note is that when this abnormal situation happened, I was in chase view and I do recall this happening a few times when I was in FSnav or another cockpit view. Could there be a link??Rob F

To give some credit towards Active Sky, they have worked hard to resolve any issues with the NG's A/P. I do believe if you post a "Help Needed" post on their forum that they can help you set some settings in FSUIPC etc they fix this issue..Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. Rob - Would you mind telling us what you've found? In your response to my post earlier in this thread you said you saw this behaviour without AS as well??? Any clarifications on what you've found I'm sure would be appreciated by the community and it sure can help if someone else ever get your problems. And if it's something that's not supposed to happen we should try to report it to the developers of Active Sky.Cheers,

I've been considering getting Active Sky.Are there people using Active Sky with the NG without problems?Bob

Bob - As far as I know there are no problems of running Active Sky and the PMDG NG together. You have to be prepared for some changes in how real weather reacts on your aircraft though.Hope it helps,

Matts, I did have problems with it with out running AS. Soon after, I uninstalled AS and the problems went away. I've re-intalled AS now and gathering FSUIPC/AS setup settings from different sources and so far no problems with it. I'm suspecting that it's most likely some conflicting settings between AS and FSUIPC. I'll post another thread in a few days and let you know if it's happening agian. Another possible cause (as I seen in another April thread) that some yokes/pedals if not calibrated properly will cause this as well. I did go through re calibrating but that was after uninstalling AS. I may never know if it was my yoke/pedals or AS. Rob FP.S thanks to everyone for the input.

Just another shot in the dark here Rob and this might not even apply towards your issue but if one has force feed back OR touches/bumps the controls (joystick or yoke) the AFDS will revert to CWS and if one is not aware of this the aircraft can indeed enter a dive.Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J.
